NH Brussels Grand Place Arenberg
Rue d'Assaut 15

With a convenient but relatively quiet location in Brussels’ financial district, about a five-minute walk from Grand Place and shopping, NH Grand Place Arenberg is reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the neighborhood. The 155-room, mid-range property looks and feels like a nicer chain hotel, and in spite of its lack of color and personality, it is clean and cheery. Guest rooms have comfortable beds and coffee/tea facilities, and the hotel offers underground parking (for a fee) and a modern meeting room. Its location makes it ideal for travelers doing business in the congress district, as well as tourists and even families. Like all NH hotels, it offers a kids' breakfast (for a fee) and adjoining rooms.

Hotel Queen Anne
Boulevard Emile Jacqmain 110

The two-and-a-half-pearl Hotel Queen Anne offers travelers affordable, design-forward accommodations in a central location, with a few drawbacks. Its 60 guest rooms have a minimalist look that borders on spare, with old tube TVs and no AC. But there's stylish wallpaper accenting walls behind beds, and modern desks with chic sconces. Most bathrooms are marble-clad, and contain shower/tub combos and heated towel racks. Features include a hot breakfast buffet (for a fee) served in a contemporary space, concierge services, a 24-hour front desk, and an attractive business alcove with two computers that are free to use. Travelers looking for a step up can check out NH Collection Brussels Centre.

Martin's Brussels EU
Boulevard Charlemagne 80

Martin's Brussels EU is an upper-middle-range chain hotel popular with business travelers due to its location just down the street from the European Commission. Interiors have stylish, contemporary furnishings and a color palette that favors reds and dark neutrals (rooms are more basic than the advertised four-star rating would suggest, though). There's an on-site restaurant and bar, and guests can also dine alfresco on the lovely outdoor patio. The property has several meeting rooms, as well as a fitness center with a dry sauna. The hotel is close to the business district, but not within walking distance of most tourist sights. For that, consider the similarly priced Hotel Le Plaza or Motel One, both within walking distance of Grand Place.

Brussels Welcome Hotel
Quai au Bois a Bruler 23

The 17-room Brussels Welcome Hotel is a unique, family-run property with lots of character in a prime location in the heart of historic Brussels. Each room is themed and named after a country -- decor is equally quirky and unforgettable. Some guests have complained that rooms and beds are on the small side, but bathrooms are inviting and contemporary and some rooms have balconies. There are modern conveniences such as laundry, free Wi-Fi, and secured underground parking, plus a lovely wood-paneled breakfast room. The Novotel Brussels Centre Tour Noire Hotel offers large rooms in the same price range.

The Hotel - Brussels
Boulevard de Waterloo 38

The Hotel is a fashionable 421-room high-rise that offers panoramic views, a modern spa with city views, and chic dining and cocktails. With close access to Avenue Louise, this hotel is a good match for guests with a penchant for high-end shopping (there is also an on-site jewelry boutique). Elegant black and white decor fills the stylish rooms, and amenities include wall-mounted flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers and electric kettles, and safes (though some guests complain about confusing high-tech lighting panels).

The Residence Les Ecrins
Rue du Rouleau 15

The 23-room Residence Les Ecrins is a value hotel in a prime Brussels location that offers reasonably priced rooms and apartments. A homey on-site breakfast room and small terrace are nice touches. Rooms offer flat-screen TVs and apartments feature modern kitchens, but some of the furnishings are a bit worn. These pet-friendly rooms and apartments offer excellent value for money, but if you're looking for more modern and stylish apartments, check out the Citadines Sainte-Catherine Brussels.

NH Brussels Louise
Chaussee de Charleroi 17

The 246-room NH Brussels City Centre is a modern chain hotel with a prime location close to downtown and near a variety of shopping. This hotel offers a range of amenities including a trendy bar/restaurant, breakfast room, and a modern gym. There are also 24-hour front desk service, currency exchange, laundry/dry cleaning service, and an underground parking lot. Rooms are simple and stylishly decorated, with flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes, and red accents (but space can be limited and some rooms have old tube TVs). Larger and more luxurious rooms can be found at The Hotel for only slightly higher rates.

Hotel Amigo
Rue de l'Amigo 1-3

The Rocco Forte Hotel Amigo is a luxury, 173-room property set in the historical heart of Brussels. The location could barely be more central -- just off the Grand Place and minutes' walk from several tourist attractions. Rooms are spacious with an understated luxury, though those facing the street can be prone to noise. While eating and drinking options are excellent, including high-end Italian cuisine and creative craft cocktails, spa facilities are glaringly absent for this caliber of hotel. Rates aren't bad for a luxury, city-center hotel, but it's worth comparing rates with the similarly upmarket, though generally cheaper Royal Windsor Hotel Grand Place.

Sleep Well Youth Hostel
Rue du Damier 23

Although it doesn't look like much from outside, Sleep Well Youth Hostel is a clean, comfortable place for youth backpackers on a budget. It's close to most of the city's top attractions -- it's just 10 minutes on foot from Grand Place -- and has great connections to ones farther afield. Rooms were finished being renovated in 2016 and are cleaned daily during a mid-day lockout period, which could be annoying for some. And while the free breakfast spread is excellent, there's no communal kitchen for guests to cook in; however, plenty of cheap eats are close by. Guests traveling in groups who don't want the dorm experience might find the private rooms to be one of the best values in the city. Travelers looking for a more homey stay at just slightly higher rates should consider The Residence Les Ecrins

Hotel Le Plaza
Boulevard Adolphe Max 118 - 126

The elegant, upscale Hotel Le Plaza has 190 rooms spread over seven floors. It’s one of the oldest hotels in the city and is a listed historical building. It has hosted royalty and world leaders, and has a suitably grand feel throughout. Its location is also great, walking distance to the main sights of Brussels, and with plenty of restaurants and cafes in the immediate vicinity. There are ample facilities on-site too, including a restaurant and breakfast room, a fitness center, large conference facilities, and parking.
