Santa Fe Motel & Inn

The Santa Fe Motel and Inn is a great value given its location near the popular Plaza in downtown Santa Fe. The spacious accommodations include rooms with kitchenettes along with more traditional casitas. Rooms are clean and in good condition, but rooms near the busy Cerrillos Road can be noisy. A hot breakfast is served (for a fee) in a semi-enclosed outdoor courtyard with a kiva fireplace. Travelers looking for a traditional Santa Fe property close to attractions will likely be happy here, but those who want a slightly more modern space can try the similarly priced Inn on the Paseo.

Homewood Suites Santa Fe
10 Buffalo Thunder Trl

This Homewood is about 15 miles outside of Santa Fe, next to the Buffalo Thunder Casino and the Towa Golf Course. It's a good value for travelers who don’t mind being removed from the city, as well as those who like to gamble. There are large, apartment-style rooms with kitchenettes, including two-bedroom suites with sleeper sofas, and rates include a free hot breakfast and free dinner and drinks on weeknights. There's also a small outdoor pool and plenty of space for meetings. Those looking to be closer to the city may want to look into staying at the Santa Fe Motel and Inn .

Casa Cuma Bed & Breakfast
105 Paseo de La Cuma

The charming Casa Cuma Bed & Breakfast is in a residential neighborhood that's within a 15-minute walk of Santa Fe Plaza, the city's historic center. It's quiet and beautiful, with views of the surrounding mountains. Along with three rooms and one suite in the main building (two casitas and a larger house are available in another location), the B&B offers a cozy living room, a hot breakfast served every morning, snacks and beverages available 24-hours a day, and an outdoor hot tub for an intimate respite. A mid-range property, prices here are a bit higher than competing bed-and-breakfasts in the area.

Baymont by Wyndham Santa Fe
4150 Cerrillos Rd

Though the Baymont Inn and Suites Santa Fe is a 20-minute drive from most attractions in Santa Fe, it’s a decent pick for those seeking a budget stay and a location next to Santa Fe Place Mall and chain restaurants. Features are few, but it does offer an indoor pool and a hot breakfast of sausages, eggs, and waffles. The 55 rooms aren’t the most stylish (and maybe a tiny bit dated), but they do well in amenities with microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers. Santa Fe Sage Inn is a good alternative for those wanting to be just outside of downtown, as it offers a free shuttle to the Plaza and free breakfast.

Hyatt Place Santa Fe
4320 Cerrillos Rd

The mid-range Hyatt Place Santa Fe is a modern hotel with many attractive amenities, including a free hot breakfast, free downtown and airport shuttles, and a 24-hour restaurant/bar in its cheerful lobby. It also has a 24-hour fitness center, pool/whirlpool, and free parking and Wi-Fi, but it’s a 20-minute trip to the historic downtown area, which can get tiresome for tourists on multi-day stays. Its 92 guest rooms are contemporary and spacious, and they're nicely equipped with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and sleeper sofas in separate seating areas. Attractive rates make this a solid value for travelers who don’t mind staying well outside downtown. Travelers looking for a stay closer to Old Town can consider the mid-range Villas de Santa Fe.

El Rey Court

One of Santa Fe's most famous hotels, El Rey Court was once a genuine slice of vintage New Mexico that's now a sharp boutique property. Situated within a 10-minute drive of Santa Fe Plaza on the original Route 66, the hotel is housed in an adobe-style building erected in 1936. The 86 contemporary Southwestern-style rooms all have free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs and the most romantic even include kiva fireplaces. A large outdoor pool is open in the warm months, and the hotel also has a fireside hot tub, sauna, and trendy little bar serving artisanal tequila and mezcal. The El Rey offers charm, an array of amenities, and lower rates than at the more lavish and centrally located Santa Fe hotels. But you're still getting plenty of style here.

ten thousand waves
21 Ten Thousand Waves Way Ten Thousand Waves Lodging, Santa Fe, NM 87501-8704

Ten Thousand Waves is a small, secluded property with a Japanese-style spa and 12 guest rooms nestled in a mountainside pine forest just outside of Santa Fe. The grounds are dotted with soaking tubs and cold plunges -- and professional therapists are on hand to perform many types of massages and treatments. Rooms aren’t quite luxe, but have a contemporary Asian look and are big and comfortable.

The Hacienda and Spa at Hotel Santa Fe

The four-pearl Hacienda at Hotel Santa Fe delivers a private, gorgeous retreat on four gorgeous acres -- just six blocks from the Plaza. The Hacienda is the more upscale section of the Hotel Santa Fe, the only hotel in town owned by Native Americans, and the extensive display of Native art gives the public areas a gallery feel. The suites are large and luxurious -- but the "butler service" that separates the Hacienda from the rest of the hotel is far from private -- you'll share just a few butlers with the other 35 guests.
