DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando - Disney Springs Area
2305 Hotel Plaza Boulevard, located in the Disney Springs Resort Area

The 229-suite DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando - Disney Springs Area is an upper-middle-range hotel that's a two-minute drive from Disney Springs. The homey, modern suites here have one or two bedrooms and kitchenettes, plus pull-out couches, though Wi-Fi isn't free. There's a restaurant serving all meals, plus two bars, one of which is by the lovely outdoor pool and whirlpool. For the kids, there's a splash zone and a playground, and the hotel has tennis and a gym too. Expect fees for parking and Wi-Fi, and a lack of perks like Magic Bands, though a free shuttle is available. Travelers who'd like a spa and free in-room Wi-Fi could check out the nearby B Resort & Spa, which also has a colorful game room, but charges a resort fee.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge
901 Timberline Drive, Lake Buena Vista

The magic of Disney and the beauty of the Great American West come together at the Wilderness Lodge, a stunning four-pearl property near the Magic Kingdom. Its 727 rooms have tasteful cabin-inspired decor with lots of Native American-inspired design elements throughout. Two beautiful pools (one with a kids' splash zone), four restaurants, and boat-transportation to the Magic Kingdom are top-notch amenities that appeal to families, but adults and romantics may find the place a bit too kid-centric. The JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes might appeal more to couples, but it’s a 25-minute drive from most Disney attractions.

Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive

This sprawling upper-middle-range chain hotel offers 613 rooms right in the middle of Orlando's action. Clean, contemporary rooms have modern features like flat-screen TVs and iPod docks, some with balconies or patios. The hotel has two outdoor pools plus a kids’ pool, and there’s a modern fitness center with a sauna and steam room alongside on-site dining options. This hotel is a popular business destination, but the location near theme parks and restaurants draws tourists as well, though there is a mandatory resort fee that covers things like Wi-Fi and area shuttles. Travelers looking for more space might want to investigate the Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa, which has condo-style rooms, though they aren't as fresh.

Blue Tree Resort at Lake Buena Vista

This three-pearl, 275-room condo-style resort provides free shuttle services to and from the Disney theme parks, SeaWorld, and Universal. Additionally, the resort has family-focused amenities including four pools, two hot tubs, multiple sports courts, mini-golf, resort-wide events and activities, and an arcade. The condos include full-size kitchens, screened-in furnished porches, small bathrooms, and pullout couches for extra sleeping space. Guests shouldn't expect regular housekeeping or any on-site dining, though restaurants are about 10-minute walk away, as are grocery stores. The adjacent Grande Villas Resort is a comparable option that has a deli and convenience store on-site.

The Floridian Hotel and Suites
7531 Canada Ave

The Floridian Hotel and Suites is a modest, 129-room budget hotel located just off of International Drive. The style ranges from dated to generically modern, and all rooms have two queen beds, cozy padded window seats, microwaves, and mini-fridges as well as free Wi-Fi. The outdoor pool has a few sun loungers and picturesque tropical landscaping. The hotel doesn't have many other features, though freebies like continental breakfast, parking, Wi-Fi, and shuttles to Universal Studios and Disney World add value. Overall, while there are some upkeep issues and a less-than-stellar attention to detail, it's a decent base for touring Orlando's attractions. For more features (including lots for kids) at often similar rates, check out the Holiday Inn Resort-Lake Buena Vista instead.

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
1960 Broadway, Lake Buena Vista

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is a massive upper-middle-range Disney resort with 1,320 rooms spread across 65 acres. Lodging options include Deluxe Studios and Villas with up to three bedrooms, plus popular family-friendly Treehouse Villas surrounded by forest. Facilities are extensive, with multiple restaurants and bars plus playgrounds, pools, barbecue areas, tennis courts, arcade games, bicycle rentals, and a 24-hour gym. There's also the lovely Senses Spa for treatments and an 18-hole golf course just adjacent to the property. A free shuttle connects Disney's Saratoga Springs to the theme parks, but if you want to be within walking distance of Epcot, consider a stay at one of the properties closer to the entrance, such as Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort and Disney's Beach Club Resort.

Holiday Inn Orlando – Disney Springs Area

This mid-range chain hotel attracts budget-minded families with its location near Downtown Disney, free shuttle to all of the Disney parks, and kid-friendly amenities that include a large outdoor pool. Numerous meeting rooms and a solid value also draw business travelers. However, traffic noise in rear-facing rooms and a fee for parking are small annoyances that make considering other options worthwhile.

Quality Inn & Suites

Located a short drive from restaurants and Universal Studios, Quality Inn & Suites Universal Studios is a convenient choice for families on a budget. The 106 guest rooms are simple and efficient, with flat-screen TVs, safes, and coffeemakers, though decor is somewhat dated and guests have spotted bugs. There’s a nicely landscaped outdoor pool area with lounge chairs and shaded seating at tables. The hotel has a small fitness center, and offers a free breakfast including waffles. The hotel is just off the interstate, so some rooms can be noisy. For a similar price range, guests may also want to check out Best Western Plus Universal, which is within walking distance to Universal Studios and restaurants.

Heart of I-Drive Hotel

Formerly known as the Travelodge Orlando International Drive, the two-pearl Heart of IDrive is 10 minutes from Universal Studios by car. The 114 rooms are simple and straightforward, and include a mini-fridge and microwave -- but the industrial carpeting and tube-style TVs look dated. The hotel offers freebies like Wi-Fi, a continental breakfast, parking, and a small outdoor pool, but don't expect much in the way of charm or ambience. Facilities and rooms pale in comparison to the nearby Holiday Inn Express, though the Heart of IDrive is one of the cheapest in the area.

Hilton Grand Vacations at SeaWorld
6924 Grand Vacations Way

Resembling a fun park in its own right, Hilton Grand Vacations at SeaWorld has a giant pool area with three pools and whirlpools, a waterfall, tennis courts, and a lineup of activities that includes pottery painting and movie night. The hotel provides free shuttle service to SeaWorld, which is right across the street, as well as Aquatica, Discovery Cove, and Universal. Standard studio rooms aren't particularly spacious, but include perks like kitchenettes and free Wi-Fi.
