The five-room Posada Lizard House is a budget inn located on the main avenue that runs the length of this small island. Guests can walk to town in less than 10 minutes and to the beach in 10 to 15 minutes. Rooms aren't fancy, but they are colorful and have air-conditioning, fans, flat-screen TVs, and safes. Unfortunately, while all bathrooms are private, they're small and a bit musty,. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. A small open-air terrace with hammocks and a few chairs provides a nice hangout spot. This is among the lowest-priced hotels on the island, but features are limited in the extreme. A slightly pricier alternative is the Posada Turistica Colors of the Sea, where rooms are a bit fresher. 

The 146-room Portobelo Plaza de las Americas is a mid-range option situated on the northern end of San Andres Island, a five-minute walk from the beach. It's also within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. Rooms are modern and fresh, and are equipped with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. However, some lack windows. A free breakfast buffet with hot and cold selections is served, and there's a bar as well. The outdoor pool is small, but it gets plenty of sun during the day, and there's a bright fitness room, too. Meeting spaces accommodate a variety of group sizes. A similarly priced alternative in the area is the Hotel Arena Blanca, where some rooms have balconies with glimpses of the sea and there's also a playground.
