Meads Bay Beach Villas
Meads Bay Road

The four-pearl Beach Villas at Meads Bay are like a home away from home: that is, if home is a two-bedroom, beach-front villa with a private pool and patio set amid lush tropical landscaping. The four upscale accommodations make it easy to enjoy the slow-paced Anguillan vibe, though the atmosphere isn't wholly private as a result of its being wedged between two different, larger properties. The villas are perfect for those wanting a relaxing, simple vacation on one of the most beautiful beaches in Anguilla, though anyone looking for a bit more action should check out Frangipani next door, which offers a number of water sports and an adjacent restaurant and bar.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla
Barnes Bay

The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla, opened in 2009, is the most modern property on this tiny island -- and arguably the most luxurious. The Kelly Wearstler-designed resort manages to mix an upscale look with a laid-back, beachy feel, and features sleek lines, modern amenities, numerous art installations, earth tones, animal prints, and wood, stone, and gold accents. This look continues through the 166 rooms, which have romantic balconies as well as marble bathrooms with separate showers and soaking tubs. Though the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla certainly attracts couples, the resort features a kids' club and teen's club, and families can be seen splashing around in the pools and heading to the tennis courts.

Malliouhana, Auberge Resorts Collection
Meads Bay

Malliouhana, an Auberge Resort, is a a lovely oceanfront resort with great sunset views and a charming boutique vibe. All 46 bright and breezy room feature king or queen poster beds, Nespresso machines, and private balconies – most with ocean views. The beaches here are long and beautiful, with plenty of loungers, a bar, and free non-motorized water sports. The two freshwater infinity pools include an adult-only option and a family pool, and there's a cliffside restaurant with equally stellar ocean views as well. You'll find a well-stocked gym if you need to work off your indulgences, though the spa makes an equally convincing case for self care. If you'd prefer a larger resort with multi-room villas, you'd do well to consider the nearby Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla as well.

Anacaona Boutique Hotel
Meads Bay Rd 200

**Anaconda Boutique Hotel was tragically impacted by *Hurricane Irma* in September 2017 and will not be reopen by October 10th, their seasonal reopening date. We'll update our review as soon as we have more information**. The 27-room Anacaona is a solid mid-range option in Anguilla’s West End. It offers access to the same gorgeous white-sand beach as the neighboring Viceroy -- through an off-property path -- as well as to the nearby Greg Norman’s golf course and a few restaurants. Rooms are large and airy, and have great amenities, including large flat-screen TVs with dozens of channels, iPod docks, free Wi-Fi, and Frette linens. But most bathrooms are lackluster, with old tiling and fixtures. With two small pools, free snorkeling equipment, a great restaurant serving Caribbean fare with a twist, and a massage hut on the beach, the hotel is a good pick for value.

Frangipani Beach Resort
Meads Bay, West End

The Frangipani Beach Resort is a surprisingly lively four-pearl option amid the resorts, beach restaurants, and condos along Mead’s Bay. Since 2017's horrible hurricane season, the hotel is fully open for business. It's small status keeps things intimate, and the resort offers a wide selection of free water-sports equipment, an excellent and popular restaurant, and pool overlooking the stunning white sands of the adjacent beach. That beach was one of the prettiest we found during our early 2017 visit. The 19 rooms are pleasant and spacious, with air-conditioning, patios, and free Wi-Fi, though water pressure and temperature can be inconsistent in the bathrooms. For those who don't need as many features, Carimar Beach Club is a secluded option at far end of Mead’s Bay and is often less expensive.
