One of the top highlights at this upper-middle-range hotel is its scenic clifftop location that offers gorgeous views over the sea and beautiful Devon coast. Located a short walk from Torquay's marina and its hub of restaurants and shops, it's a convenient base for an English Riviera vacation. Though interiors are elegant and reflect the property's Victorian heritage, it's a faded (and dated) sort of grandeur that could use some upgrades. Nevertheless, the 152 guest rooms are pleasant and many have sea views. Traditional British fare is available at the restaurant and bar, though some complain it's overpriced, while a variety of health and wellness features -- including outdoor and indoor pools, a fitness center, and a spa -- round out the facilities.
