Scene

A stylish ultra-modern boutique resort with expansive ocean views

Mantra Samui is a modern boutique resort with a laid-back vibe, stunning ocean vistas, and a tranquil ambience. This quiet hillside retreat attracts mainly couples and families looking for a peaceful getaway. Common spaces feature stylish artsy decor and most are set overlooking the view. The rooftop infinity pool is a crowd favorite and is often a hub of activity throughout the day. There's a swim-up bar offering poolside drinks and food service, plus a roomy sun deck lined with lounge chairs. Although, the pool can get crowded at times, especially during high season. Adjoining the pool is a spacious open-air dining venue, which features a contemporary industrial look and unobstructed ocean views. Some guests may find the hotel's steep hillside inclines challenging, though it does have golf carts to shuttle guests around.

Location

Overlooking Samui's northern coastline, a 15-minute drive from Bophut Beach and Fisherman's Village

The resort is located along a steep and fairly remote hillside village overlooking Samui's northern coastline. It isn't within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, or shops, but Bophut's white-sand beaches and Fisherman's Village are a 10- to 15-minute drive away. Fisherman's Village is a great place to shop, with rows of boutiques, or dine at hip cafes and beachfront dining venues. Chaweng (a 20-minute drive away) is a better bet for nightlife and has tons of nightclubs, beach clubs, and local bars, plus restaurants and shops. Also, the Central Festival Samui shopping mall and Pench Buncha Thai Boxing Stadium are in Chaweng. Lomprayah catamaran speedboats leave from the Maenam Pier, located a 15-minute drive from the hotel. Lomprayah is one of the more reliable and speedy transfer options to Koh Phangang, Koh Tao, and Surat Thani (mainland). Samui International Airport is about 20 minutes away by car.

Rooms are outfitted with comfy beds, upholstered couches, work desks and chairs, large wardrobes, and outdoor seating. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, safes, free Wi-Fi, telephones, coffee- and tea-making facilities, mini-fridges, and free bottled water.Bathrooms are fresh with a clean bright decor and quality fittings. Features

A rooftop pool, a multi-cuisine restaurant, a full-service spa and gym, a co-working lounge, and free Chaweng shuttles

The biggest draw for guests booking a stay at Mantra Samui Resort are the hotel's stunning ocean views and prime facilities have all been oriented to take full advantage of the vistas. The hotel's most attractive feature is its infinity swimming pool, which sits suspended along the cliffside. The pool is saltwater treated and features a swim-up pool bar, plus a large wooden deck lined with plenty of lounge chairs. An all-day multi-cuisine restaurant adjoins the swimming pool and features the same epic views. The menu consists of an assortment of authentic Thai homestyle dishes and some western favorites, like pizza, pasta, salads, and sandwiches. A buffet-style breakfast with a good variety of dishes is included in room rates. A converted VW van is housed outside the lobby and sells coffee and grab-and-go snacks.Jai Spa is an intimate full-service spa that offers traditional Thai beauty and massage treatments with all-natural spa products. The hotel also includes a full fitness center. The lobby is little more than a place to check-in, but it does feature some comfy couches for guests to relax on while waiting. A better option is the roomy co-working space and lounge. Tour arrangements, adventure excursions, and vehicle rentals can be organized through reception. Free yoga classes, poolside film screenings, and kids' activities are held throughout the week. Other freebies include free shuttles to Fisherman's Village and Chaweng, Wi-Fi, and on-site parking.
