KC Beach Club and Pool Villas
11/9 Moo 2

KC Beach Club and Pool Villas is an upper-middle-range boutique hotel located right on Chaweng Beach and a short walk into town. Rooms are modern and clean, with flat-screen TVs, strong free Wi-Fi connections, minibars, and whirlpool tubs; most also have balconies and some have patios with direct pool access. It's a bit of a party scene with live DJ music morning until night, plus two pools, two on-site restaurants, and beachside massages. Guests looking for a quiet retreat may prefer to stay elsewhere

Samui Bayview Resort & Spa
104 Moo 3

Removed from the chaos of the island’s busier areas, the mid-range Samui Bayview Resort & Spa sits on a jungle-clad hilltop between Chaweng and Lamai beaches. The 52 traditionally decorated rooms and suites have seen better days, but they still offer rustic appeal and quality amenities such as flat-screen TVs, coffee- and tea-making facilities, and balconies. While the nearby sea is not swimmable, the resort offers two appealing infinity pools with stunning views overlooking the ocean. Also on-site are a restaurant serving Thai and international dishes, simple spa, and small gym and children’s playroom. Due to the lack of restaurants and stores nearby, guests should expect to spend a good amount at the on-site restaurant or on taxis. Travelers looking for a cheaper option with similar amenities should consider the Baan Hin Sai Chaweng Noi Boutique Resort.

Chaba Cabana Beach Resort
160 Moo 2, Bo Put

The Chaba Cabana Beach Resort is a mid-range property located north of Chaweng Beach on Samui's east coast. The resort sits away from the crowded and party beach scene of Chaweng, but is still close to restaurants and shops. Rooms here are divided between a Deluxe Wing and Villa Wing, that are fairly similar with wood floors, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi and breakfast. The resort has two pools, one of which occupies a prime position right next to the beach. The pool is part of the Cabana Beach Club, which also features a beach bar and pool bar, and there is an adjacent restaurant here as well. This is a good spot for those who want access to the airport and party scene, but still value a quiet stretch of beach.

Dara Samui Beach Resort
162/2 Moo 2 Chaweng Beach

The upper-middle-range Dara Samui Beach Resort is located on Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui's most popular beach and party town. The resort is a 10- to 15-minute drive from the airport and surrounded by hundreds of restaurants, bars, and shopping spots. The resort is mid-sized, with rooms set along a narrow corridor leading from the beach road to the sand. Rooms have northern Thai Lanna decor, wood floors, and some four-poster beds. All rooms have 32-inch flat-screen TVs, bathtubs, and free Wi-Fi. There's a shallow pool here, more decorative than useful for swimming, and a sandy beach area. Despite the name, there isn't a spa here, but there are two nice restaurants and a pool bar. Prices are high for amenities offered, travelers might want to shop around for a better deal.

Muang Samui Spa Resort
13/1 Moo 2, Chaweng Beach, Bophut, Koh Samui

The Muang Samui Spa Resort is a mid-size, upscale property set in raucous Chaweng Beach, the party center of Koh Samui. The resort is set in a green garden between the main road and the beach, so it's easy to escape the noise and crowds. Spacious, but slightly worn, rooms come with teak wood floors, flat-screen TVs, and large terraces to enjoy the lush surroundings. There's a large pool with a kids' area, plus the busy beachfront with sun loungers. Samui Seafood Grill restaurant is one of Chaweng's most famous and popular fresh seafood joints. It features a giant wooden boat in its interior where live music and Thai dancing is performed. Staying here isn't cheap, but beach hotels in Chaweng tend to be overpriced as a rule.

Chaba Samui Resort
19 Chaweng Beach Road

The Chaba Samui Resort is a fairly large, mid-range resort located in the center of Chaweng Beach, Samui's main beach and party town. The resort is built on both sides of the main beach road, with the Ocean Wing side including the better guest rooms, along with the bigger swimming pool, sandy beach, and restaurant. The Lake Wing side has older rooms, a small fitness center, and a small outdoor pool. All rooms come with free Wi-Fi and breakfast. The main pool and beach area are popular and crowded; this resort gets a lot of repeat business due to its long tenure in the heart of Chaweng. There are plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop all around, but the price tag for what you're getting on an older property is high given the competition.

First Bungalow Beach Resort
4/6 Moo 3

First Bungalow Beach Resort is a large, mid-range property on Chaweng Noi, a pretty beach with far more sand and space than the bigger Chaweng Beach just to the north. The 174-room resort offers access to some restaurants and shops, and bright rooms ranging from bright standards with free Wi-Fi and minibars to Beach Bungalows steps from the sand. Other features include a large swimming pool, happening beach, beach and poolside bars, and a restaurant. The resort draws long-term repeat visitors, and is famous for being the first-ever resort in Samui.

The Sarann
95-96 Moo 3, Chaweng Noi Beach, Tambol Bophut

The Sarann is a small boutique resort located at the end of Chaweng Noi Beach, a five-minute drive from main Chaweng Beach and about 15 minutes from the airport. The resort is not on the beach but the bay, and the water here is rocky and coral-filled, but some nice sand is just a quick stroll away, and the resort makes up for it by having a lovely infinity pool and great views of the bay. Rooms here are all very big, with wooden floors and desks, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, hot water kettles, and free Wi-Fi; some come with pools, terraces with hot tubs, or balconies depending on the type. The resort is small, but does have a tiny fitness center, spa, fusion restaurant which overlooks the sea. It's an out-of-town escape that is priced cheaper than some of the not-as-nice Chaweng Beach choices, although the location isn't great in terms of dining and shopping options.

KC Resort & Over Water Villas
166/98 Moo. 2, Chaweng Choeng Mon Beach Road

This upper-middle-range 95-room hotel located in the hills of Koh Samui offers a quieter alternative to the more boisterous downtown hotels. Whereas its sister hotel KC Beach Club Pool and Villas is more like a trendy Miami boutique hotel, this property wants to be the Thai version of a hillside retreat in Costa Rica. Views over the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Matlang, and Chaweng Bay can be seen from anywhere in the resort; an especially good vantage point is by the well-maintained infinity pool. All rooms have whirlpool tubs, rainfall showers, balconies, and king-size beds, and the vibe is more romantic than raucous. The on-site restaurant has great views, and a full-service spa and fitness center are nice perks. Free golf cart rides for short trips, as well as an area shuttle to Chaweng Beach, help make the slightly removed locale more convenient. However, the resort could do with some upgrades and cleaning. Wi-Fi, while free, can be slow.
