The Sheraton Towers Singapore is an upscale hotel that pays careful attention to details. There's a level of quality throughout, from the intricately carved furniture to the beautifully landscaped gardens. The Daulat Hotel is a small upper-middle-range boutique in the vibrant Little India neighborhood, near dining and nightlife. Its 16 rooms are packed with amenities, from Nespresso machines to 42-inch flat-screen TVs; mosaic tiled bathrooms have rainfall showers. The standard rooms are cramped and noise from neighboring bars can rage late into the night, but by day, the little rooftop pool and garden terrace are the picture of urban tranquility. The lobby cafe isn't quite a full restaurant, but it serves Western cuisine and exotic Kopi Luwak coffee, along with free breakfast. It's worth comparing rates at the nearby design-heavy Wanderlust, which has similar amenities.

Inarguably Singapore's most recognizable hotel, Marina Bay Sands is an architectural feat and integrated resort that's home to a hotel, casino, mall, and entertainment venues. You may also recognize Marina Bay Sands SkyPark from "Crazy Rich Asians," where the hit film's wild final party scene takes place. Even so, the property is an icon. Rooms are spacious, with many offering excellent views of Gardens by the Bay. Facilities include a luxe spa, well-stocked gym, and the gorgeous Marina Bay Sands infinity pool located on the 57th floor. The hotel is also a hot spot for celebrity chef-helmed restaurants, including Michelin-starred options. Marina Bay Sands' central location in the Downtown Core near the Bayfront MRT station makes it popular, but crowds are a constant here. Those who prefer a calmer, equally luxurious space can consider The Fullerton Bay Hotel instead.

This upscale boutique opened in 2010 is one of the newest hotels on the Marina Bay waterfront. It's intimate by Singapore hotel standards (100 rooms), and with its top-notch service and wonderful amenities, the property feels exclusive and private. Spacious rooms have masculine decor, with dark colors and wood accents, and come equipped with high-end amenities, including Egyptian cotton linens, Molton Brown toiletries, Nespresso coffeemakers, and iPod docks. Double-glazed floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning bay and skyline views. The vistas can also be enjoyed from the balconies and the deep soaking tubs (note that the glass walls between the tubs and the rooms do have privacy shades). The stylish rooftop bar, the huge pool, and the great dining options round out the experience.

Hotel Clover 5 HongKong Street’s biggest draws are its rooftop pool and its great location with easy access to places like Chinatown, Clarke Quay, and Boat Quay. A pool is an exceptional amenity for a budget boutique hotel this close to the city center. It’s complemented by other amenities such as a breakfast (not included) with Asian and European options and free Wi-Fi throughout. The 55 rooms here are modern, but compact, with bathrooms with frosted glass walls, which might not be ideal for all. Flat-screen TVs, kettles, and free non-alcoholic beverages in the mini-fridges are provided in rooms.
