Reflect Krystal Grand Los Cabos
Carretera Transpeninsular Km 29, Km 29

Krystal Grand Los Cabos is a three-and-a-half-pearl, all-inclusive resort conveniently located beachfront to Costa Azul. Though the ocean is too rough for swimming, the sand is set with sun loungers and picnic tables. When construction is completed in late 2017, there will be 454 rooms, a fitness center, and spa. Renovated rooms are contemporary with purposeful minimalism throughout: open spaces, clean lines, and neutral colors. All-inclusive rates include dining at all on-premise restaurants, two bars, and minibars in the rooms. The hotel has a massive pool terrace and kids’ club, but little of interest within walking distance. For those looking to be closer to downtown Cabo (and closer to a swimmable beach), check out Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort and Spa, but at a slightly higher price tag.

Club Regina Los Cabos
Carretera Transpeninsular km 22.5

Scenically set into the cliffs and offering gorgeous sea views, the picturesque setting of this mid-range hotel is its main highlight. The landscape is showcased from most public spaces, including the infinity-edge pool and two restaurants that offer alfresco dining. There are three other pools here, including pools for adults and for families, plus a kids' club and spa. Bright, simply decorated studios and suites have whirlpool tubs, while one- and two-bedroom suites add kitchenettes, living rooms, and private balconies. Units without kitchenettes lack some basic amenities, however, like minibars/mini-fridges and coffeemakers. Other nuisances include annoying time-share pitches and a daily resort fee that covers Wi-Fi and housekeeping. For something with more features, the Royal Solaris Los Cabos offers more dining options, activities and evening entertainment, and a water park.

JW Marriott Los Cabos Beach Resort & Spa
Fraccion Hotelera FH5-C1, Subdelegacion de la Playita, Puerto Los Cabos,

With its stunning architecture and amazing beachside setting, the JW Marriott Los Cabos Beach Resort & Spa is luxury property that's one of the nicest Los Cabos hotels. This peaceful oasis feels like a world unto itself, with massive rooms that include king-size beds, spa-worthy bathrooms, and large furnished terraces. Wellness amenities impress: The fitness center is a proper gym with a great selection of classes and modern equipment, and the spa is beautiful. Dining scores high marks, particularly at the gorgeous Cafe des Artistes. Numerous stunning pools overlook the beach, including adult-only and family options. Keep in mind that room service and charges to use the kids' club can add up. If you'd prefer a more central resort, consider the Hilton Los Cabos instead, though it's less exclusive. You could also check out Marquis Los Cabos, though again it doesn't quite have the same remarkable style.

El Encanto Inn & Suites Boutique Hotel
Calle Jose Maria Morelos 133, Colonia Centro

On a cobblestone street in the Historic Center of San Jose del Cabo the budget hacienda-style El Encanto Inn & Suites is ideal for families and couples looking to relax and experience Old World Mexican charm. The hotel is close to historic churches and the vibrant Art District, but is a 25-minute walk to the beach. The 27 rooms are in two buildings -- a four-minute walk apart -- Standard Rooms and Junior Suites located in the smaller and simpler inn building, while rooms in the main building have views of the garden and pool terrace. Rooms feature standard amenities like TVs (some are tube-style TVs), coffeemakers, and air-conditioning. Those looking to be closer to the beach should consider Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa in Cabo San Lucas, which has a swimmable beach and higher rates.

Casa del Mar Golf Resort & Spa
Carretera Transpeninsular km 19.5, Cabo Real

Casa del Mar Golf Resort & Spa is a lovely luxury option along The Tourist Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. The boutique hotel is a tranquil alternative to the surrounding mega-resorts and has most of the same great amenities -- relaxing spa, multi-level swimming pool, three a la carte dining options, a modern fitness center, and 24-hour room service. All 50 guest rooms here are suites and come with flat-screen TVs, ocean views, and balconies. Though the white-sand beach is gorgeous, the ocean isn’t always safe for swimming. There's also isn't much in the way of entertainment or kids activities. Those looking to be closer to a more swimmable beach might consider Casa Dorado for similar amenities at around the same price.

Viceroy Los Cabos
Calle Paseo Malecon San Jose, Lote 8, Zona Hotelera

Cutting-edge contemporary accents and cool modernist style collide at Viceroy Los Cabos, which is already a major player in the Cabo scene despite having opened in late 2018. The visual first impression is dramatic: Blazing white buildings frame massive reflecting pools all centered on the iconic wooden dome of  Viceroy's signature restaurant, Nido. However, there's also a lot of substance to be found, including a spa, beach club, cinema, amazing gym, and trendy dining. That's saying nothing of the rooftop club that opened in early 2019 and draws international DJs. Rooms include Smart TVs, large terraces, and -- in some -- private hot tubs and ocean views. If you'd prefer a luxury option that's a bit more intimate, opt for Chileno Bay Resort & Residences instead, which has a swimmable beach and equally swoon-worthy dining.

Grand Velas Los Cabos
Carretera Transpeninsular Km. 17.3, Corredor Turístico, Municipio de Los Cabos

When it comes to all-inclusive luxury resorts, Grand Velas Los Cabos is one of Cabo's best choices. From the beautiful grounds to the upbeat-but-classy vibe, this is pampering done right. Large rooms come in soft contemporary tones and feature ocean and pool views from large balconies (many with plunge pools). Dining is easily one of the highlights, with an array of chic restaurants like Frida and Casa del Autor. You'll also find an extensive array of top-shelf drinks and wines as part of all-inclusive rates. The numerous tiered pools all face the beach, which is pretty (but too dangerous for swimming -- a common issue in Cabo). While Le Blanc Los Cabos offers the closest competition in the luxury all-inclusive category, Grand Velas is a true gem that's worth the splurge.
