Coconut Palms Inn
2734 Calle 8, Com. Stella

For those wanting to be near the surfer buzz of Rincon but don't want to pay a premium, Coconut Palms Inn is a fine choice. The hotel offers beachfront accommodations within a five-minute drive of the restaurants, shops, markets, and attractions in Rincon, with eight quaint rooms that include free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, and mini-fridges. The no-frills grounds are well-maintained with a relaxed, intimate garden and a large waterfront verandah with a communal kitchen. However, the lack of an on-site pool or restaurant may discourage some travelers -- though this still remains a popular, well-liked pick in Rincon. While a bit pricier, the nearby Villa Cofresi Hotel offers similar accommodations, plus a lovely pool, a restaurant, and free continental breakfast.

Blue Boy Inn
556 Black Eagle Street, Barrio Ensenada

The Blue Boy Inn is a custom-built, upper-middle-range bed-and-breakfast set in a private walled courtyard close to Rincon's Marina Beach. The property's eight rooms are cozy cocoons with queen-size beds, plush bedding, and tiled outdoor terraces. The inn is one of Rincon's most romantic and caters mostly to couples and privacy seekers. It features a huge pool and terrace area with an outdoor kitchen and fire pit, but it lacks a restaurant and bar, and a beachfront location. Those who demand ocean views could try Tres Sirenas and those requiring more amenities might enjoy the (pricier) Horned Dorset Primavera.

Rincon Of The Seas Grand Caribbean Hotel
Road 115, Km 12.2

This 112-room hotel is a decent mid-range option for families and wedding groups who want a large pool and beach setting in Rincón, on the west coast of Puerto Rico. While the lobby is pleasant, don't let this deceive you, as the rooms are begging for some work starting with the bedding and curtains. (It's hard to believe that the property opened in 2003). Mini-fridges are an additional fee and the restaurant and bar tend to shut down around 10 pm, meaning those who do not want to drive anywhere are simply stuck, and bored. Ocean views on the top two floors make up for some shortcomings, but romantic couples may want to consider the one-bedroom suites or nothing at all. On the plus side, the freeform outdoor pool with a swim-up bar is wildly popular, the beach boasts a wider stretch of sand than its neighbors, and sunsets are not to be missed.

Tres Sirenas Beach Inn
26 Sea Beach Dr

Situated a few minutes by car from downtown Rincon, the boutique Tres Sirenas Beach Inn is one of the area’s most polished beachfront hotels. Each of its five rooms features a unique layout and high-end home decor with a beachy twist. They also include free Wi-Fi, kitchenettes (or full kitchens), and private balconies overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Breakfast scores rave reviews and is served on the rooms' balconies, and the lovely pool and quiet, semi-private stretch of Rincon Beach all make this a perennially popular, adult-oriented pick. The nearby Villa Cofresi Hotel offers more amenities and a livelier atmosphere for less, but the aging decor and overall budget feel there may dissuade some.

Tropical Treehouse
Barrio Pueblo, Calle Julio Soto

This property sustained significant damage during Hurricane Maria in September 2017, and all treehouse structures were tragically devastated. It is currently closed for repairs. We will update our review as soon as we have more information.  Less than 10 minutes from “downtown” Rincon, Tropical Treehouse offers a rustic chance to commune with nature. It's all about the outdoors here, and with just two room options available things stay quiet and quaint. The two rooms -- "hooches" designed to minimize their impact on the environment -- differ only in size, but offer identical amenities including a full outdoor bathroom, solar power, and a kitchenette. The property intentionally omits all technological amenities -- there is no Wi-Fi, TV, alarm clock, or phone in either room. However, there are several acres of private hiking trails, helping to make this one of the most unique places to spend a night or two in the area.

Rincon Inn
Carr 115, Km 11.6, Bo. Pueblo

Located on Rincon’s touristy Route 115, Rincon Inn is a five-minute drive to the area’s most popular beaches, restaurants, shops, and attractions. As a two-pearl hotel, the only real common amenity is a modest pool and sundeck. Fit and finish in each of the 14 rooms is old and dated. All feature mini-fridges, microwaves, and satellite TVs, though the units themselves are tube-style. The hotel (sometimes advertised as a hostel) offers some of the area’s cheapest accommodations and it looks and feels every bit the part. Much of the property -- including the exterior, decor, and mini-golf course -- is in need of updating and maintenance. For a bit more, Coconut Palms Inn provides cleaner, two-and-a-half-pearl accommodations on the beach.

Lazy Parrot Inn
4.1 Carr 413, Barrio Puntas

The Lazy Parrot Inn is an established 21-room, lower-mid-range hotel with two restaurants, a pool, and mini-golf course set on a hillside surrounded by thick jungle and farmland. The rooms, set in the newer poolside building and the older main building near the street, vary greatly in style and price, appealing to budget-minded couples and families. The pool is the main attraction at the hotel, but it’s not exclusive to guests during the day and can become crowded with kids and families. Those seeking a quieter experience might enjoy the Dos Angelos Del Mar Bed and Breakfast or the beachfront Casa Islena.

Villa Cofresi Hotel
Rd. 115, Km 12.0

This family-operated 111-room hotel opened in 1965 sits inches from Rincon Beach on the west coast of Puerto Rico. Today, four very involved siblings keep the family traditional going, attracting (no surprise here) other families with kids who run back and forth between the swimmable beach and outdoor pool. Grown-ups will likely love the adjacent and lively bar, and the indoor/outdoor restaurant serves gourmet cuisine including a standout Red Snapper. All rooms have mini-fridges while some units -- like the two-bedroom apartments -- have fully equipped kitchens. Decor throughout is clean, but in need of some updating. This may not be the best option for romantics, especially those staying in rooms close to the bar noise, but low-key wedding groups are common. Wi-Fi is free.

Horned Dorset Primavera
Apartado 1132

In an area that's home to countless rustic guest houses, Horned Dorset Primavera is a real stand out. While the list of common amenities isn’t long, each one is impressive. Two garden-style pools surrounded by centuries-old palm trees, an elegant restaurant with alfresco dining and panoramic water views, and a secluded beach are its most noteworthy. Each of the 17 rooms features a spacious, bi-level layout with an extensive list of upscale amenities -- kitchenettes, swank marble bathrooms, and private plunge pools overlooking the Caribbean Sea. However, exorbitant daily resort fees, unreliable Wi-Fi, and the narrow beach may dissuade some guests. There are few comparable properties in the area, though Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, offers the same amenities in a modern, polished package for less.

Casa Verde Hotel
Carr. 413 Int. Km. 4.4, Bo. Puntas

Casa Verde Hotel offers bright three-pearl accommodations along Rincon’s famous beachfront Carretera 413. The surrounding area is an eclectic surfer’s haven full of funky beach bars and tiny, no-frills guesthouses. Features include a seasonal, gourmet dinner restaurant, an open-air burger bar, and a small, lovely pool with a hot tub and pool bar. Rooms are simple and contemporary, and have a lot more style than what's on offer in the area. They include flat-screen satellite TVs, free Wi-Fi, and balconies with (optional) ocean views. Some rooms are compact, though, and it's a five- to 10-minute walk to the beach. The atmosphere can also be a little raucous at times. For something with a bit more romance and similar features, check out the Blue Boy Inn down the coast.
