Caribbean Paradise Inn
Bonventure Cres Road, Grace Bay

The Caribbean Paradise Inn has 18 honey rooms, all with balconies or terraces overlooking the lush garden grounds. Suites have full, outdoor kitchenettes. This mid-range hotel is ideal for singles or couples on a budget who want to be within walking distance to the beach, shops, bars, and restaurants. Open from November to August, the adjacent Iron Chef-owned restaurant, Cobaya, serves acclaimed Caribbean fusion and seafood dishes. Note that with slow, seasonal (and sometimes noisy) renovations in the hands of the owner, many rooms are at various levels of renovation -- some displaying contemporary decor and fixtures, and others looking dated. However, in an area filled mostly filled with expensive resorts and residence properties, the Caribbean Paradise offers great bang for your buck -- especially in the newer rooms.

Reef Residences on Grace Bay
Stubbs Road

This condo-hotel is a solid mid-range option on pricey Turks and Caicos, with 24 spacious -- if slightly worn -- suites featuring full kitchens, sofa beds, and sprawling patios. Features are adequate for a small condo property -- there's a small pool, fitness center, and spa -- and it's only a 100-yard stroll to the beach.

The Somerset on Grace Bay
Princess Drive, Grace Bay

The Somerset on Grace Bay is a stylish, four-and-a-half-pearl hotel located on Grace Bay Beach. The property’s 53 units are swish yet homey and inviting -- most are residential units with full kitchens and one- to five-bedrooms, but Queen Rooms with kitchenettes are also available. The resort’s fine dining restaurant is fabulous (but expensive) and the beachfront pool area is dazzling; however, the spa and fitness center are underwhelming. The resort’s easy-going atmosphere makes it a favorite of both families and couples, drawing plenty of repeat guests. Travelers looking for apartment-style rooms might want to compare amenities and rates with The Palms.

Hotel La Vista Azul
Turtle Cove

La Vista Azul Resort is a lovely, three-and-a-half-pearl property located a five-minute walk away from Turtle Cove. The property consists of apartment-style studios and suites with full kitchens and living areas, in addition to smaller, more traditional hotel rooms with kitchenettes. La Vista Azul’s grounds are quite charming, defined by sunny courtyards, bubbling fountains, and neatly landscaped greenery. There are two rooftop pools with wonderful views over Turtle Cove, as well as a few convenient, independently owned shops and a restaurant. While the property isn’t right on the beach, its location away from Grace Bay’s resort hub makes for more affordable room rates. Travelers who prefer to stay directly on the sands might want to consider Alexandra Resort instead (but be prepared for steeper rates).

The Atrium Resort
Governor's Road, Leeward

Situated on Providenciales’ Leeward coast, The Atrium Resort is a quiet upper-middle-range condo property suited to families or couples looking for a relaxing escape. Though it’s not on the beach, The Atrium has a beautiful mosaic tile pool, where many guests choose to leisurely spend their days. Other amenities include a fitness center, a game room, and a mini-market, but the hotel isn’t within walking distance to any shops, restaurants, or bars. Blue Haven Resort is a pricier option on the Leeward coast, and it has two restaurants, a beachfront, more amenities, and nicer accommodations.

Kokomo Botanical Resort
31 Downwind Street

Formerly known as Venetian Ridge, the upper-middle-range Kokomo Botanical Resort & Spa is a quiet, family-friendly resort with 39 Caribbean cottages. Each cottage has two bedrooms, a cramped kitchen and living space, and a teeny tiny bathroom. Decor throughout is beachy and casual — think paneled walls, light wood furniture, and framed nautical scenes. Amenities include a beautiful pool and outdoor deck, free parking and Wi-Fi, and free pastries and coffee each morning. Kokomo guests will want to rent a car, as the beach and local shops and restaurants are not within walking distance, and island cab prices are exorbitant. It's also worth considering Atlantic Ocean Beach Villas, which is closer to the beach, has larger rooms, and typically offers cheaper nightly rates.

Grace Bay Beach Ocean Villas
10 Coconut Rd, Turtle Cove

A quiet mid-range property with eight villas, Atlantic Ocean Beach Villas feels more like a private home than a hotel. Villas feature casual, beachy decor, and range in size from small studios to large two-bedroom apartments with full kitchens — however not all units are beachfront. Located in Turtle Cove, a low-key area near the Yacht Club, the property is within walking distance of a few restaurants and bars. It’s also situated directly in front of Smith’s Reef, one of Providenciales’ best snorkeling spots. Besides a small pool and spotty Wi-Fi, there aren’t many on-site amenities here, and the general atmosphere is almost eerily quiet. Guests looking for a property with more amenities and a livelier atmosphere should check out Ocean Club West, which has similar accommodations and nightly rates.

One On Marlin
38 Marlin Street

For a Caribbean resort, One On Marlin is certainly unique. For starters, it’s not on the beach, and doesn’t particularly aim to be a “beach hotel.” Instead, the owner tries to market it as a Zen-like retreat — a place to really escape. With a secluded location, well-manicured grounds with tons of tropical foliage, Asian-inspired rooms, and ambient spa-like music quietly playing throughout the hotel, One On Marlin has certainly achieved the feeling of an exclusive retreat. But the hotel’s aesthetic doesn’t always jive with practicality, and its secluded location means guests will have to drive to the beach, grocery store, and restaurants. Its rooms, designed according to feng shui principles, are small, cramped with furniture, and lack sufficient lighting. And some may find the overtly tranquil atmosphere, well, a bit boring. Travelers looking for a quiet beachfront option may prefer Le Vele Resort, which has more on-site amenities and is within walking distance to downtown Grace Bay, but lacks One On Marlin’s seclusion.

Harbour Club Villas & Marina
36 Turtle Tail Drive, Venetian Road

This extremely small residence-style boutique property only has six units, and is surrounded by lush native plants and flowers. The front of the quiet and slightly remote Harbour Club Villas and Marina is flanked by lakefront, which is popular for fishing; the back of the property is home to a seafront marina used by local tourist companies for fishing, scuba, and snorkeling trips (as well as guests docking their boats). Boaters, couples, families, and groups looking for a quiet getaway and full kitchens will find this property attractive -- especially larger groups who can rent all six units and have the place to themselves. For a slightly (and sometimes much) higher price tag you can find more updated and contemporary units on the island, but none of them have the Harbour Club's unique dual-waterfront location and incredibly intimate vibe.
