Hotel Rott
Male Namesti 138/4

The three-pearl Rott Hotel was built in the 19th-century and is located just around the corner from the Astronomical Clock and Old Town Square. Free breakfast is served in the hotel's cellar and there's a modern Czech restaurant with terrace seating on the cobblestone street. The 94 classically styled rooms and one-bedroom suites have traditional furnishings, soaking tubs, and heated bathroom floors. Though in-room massages are available, there’s no spa and the tiny gym is ill-equipped. For travelers willing to pay a bit more, the Art Deco Imperial Hotel has more elegant rooms and a wellness center.

Vienna House Andel's Prague
Stroupeznickeho 21

The four-pearl Vienna House Andel’s Prague is a business-focused hotel in a modern, corporate area of the city, across from a shopping mall. It’s a bit far from many tourist attractions, but there’s a metro and tram stop a short walk away. The 239 rooms are cozy and clean, with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and heated floors in the bathrooms. The property has a spa, gym, restaurant, and a breakfast buffet, but the main draw for many are the 20 meeting and conference rooms. Note that there’s no pool and the spa and gym cost a fee to use. Travelers may want to compare rates at Corinthia Hotel Prague, which has a pool, three restaurants, and two bars.

Amigo City Centre Hotel
Legerova 13

Located just outside of Prague's main city center -- a 15-minute walk to Wenceslas Square -- the mid-range Amigo City Centre Hotel is a Neo-Renaissance family run hotel. Its 44 rooms have street or garden views and feature air-conditioning, heating, minibar, working desk and tea/coffee. While the rooms have a classic appeal, they may look dated to some guests. Breakfast is included in the rates, and the hotel also includes a restaurant, bar, and meeting rooms. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, however guests have complained of poor internet speeds. If the Amigo City Centre Hotel is full, guests can try their sister hotel, Alqush Downtown Hotel -- it's next door and has similar rates and features.

Best Western City Hotel Moran
Na Morani 15

The mid-range Best Western City Hotel Moran on the outskirts of New Town can be characterized as simple, but sufficient. Without a full restaurant, bar, or much lounging space, the common area is limited to the breakfast room. Its 57 uncluttered rooms have small bathrooms, but are well-appointed with safes and mini-fridges. Extra fees apply for parking, but a buffet breakfast is included in rates, as is property-wide Wi-Fi. Location could potentially be the biggest downside, while it's walking distance to the Vltava river and Wenceslas Square, the city's major attractions (Charles Bridge, Old Town, and Prague Castle) require a long trek or a trip on public transit. For a more modern option, the fusion hotel prague offers a bit more style and a better, more central location.

Hotel International Prague
Koulova 1501/15

The upscale Hotel International Prague is a landmark built during the 1950s Soviet era. It’s a bit outside of the city center, but close to public transportation to make trips into Old Town doable. The massive property has a striking marble lobby, two restaurants, and one of the city’s largest conference facilities. Breakfast and Wi-Fi are free, but parking is not. Its 278 guest rooms are clean and tastefully decorated, outfitted with coffeemakers and mini-fridges or minibars. Rates are attractive, making it a solid choice for business and leisure travelers alike. For an upscale hotel within walking distance of Prague Castle and Charles Bridge, the Hotel Three Storks offers modern rooms with castle views and free breakfast. Expect to pay slightly more, however.

Residence Bologna
Konviktska 263/5

Well within walking distance of Old Town and Wenceslas Square, and on a quiet street without traffic disturbance, this budget property’s value for its location is its biggest perk -- everything else is purely mediocre. Though the old-fashioned decor in the lobby and bar is eye-catching, most other spaces simply look dated. The 146 rooms, while decently sized (some have kitchenettes), can lack air-conditioning and proper soundproofing, and some guests report unpleasant bathroom odors. Breakfast at the sit-down Mediterranean restaurant is included with rates, but the spread is subpar. Property-wide Wi-Fi is free and often spotty. The Antik has similar rates even closer to Old Town Square, with air-conditioned rooms and slightly better amenities.

Alqush Downtown Hotel
Legerova 15

Located in New Town -- about a 20-minute walk to Wenceslas Square -- the mid-range Algush Downtown Hotel is housed in a handsomely restored Art Nouveau building. Its 24 rooms have street or garden views, and include Twins, Doubles, two-room Junior Suites, and three-room Family Apartments rooms -- all come with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and kettles/coffeemakers. Renovated in 2011, the hotel has preserved many of its original architectural features, but the ornate, Louis XVI-style might strike some as old-fashioned. Rates include a breakfast buffet, and other hotel features include a lobby bar, a seasonal terrace with a garden, and two meeting rooms. While Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, guests have complained about a sluggish connection. Room rates are competitive, but travelers seeking a hotel in Old Town could try Hotel Saint George, which also has a fitness room, whirlpool, and sauna.

Occidental Praha
Na Strzi 32

This three-and-a-half pearl hotel, located off a main highway, suits business travelers who need proximity to Prague but aren't planning frequent trips into the city. The 230 rooms are attractive spaces to put your feet up after work, and feature flat-screen TVs, minibars, terrycloth robes, and free coffee and tea. Walk-in rainfall showers are ideal for soothing tension and in-room massages can be booked. But relieving stress at the gym won't be easy, as there are only four pieces of equipment and it isn't open 24 hours -- and there's no spa. Also, free breakfast and gym access don't come with standard rooms, though there are two restaurants and an airy bar. While families with children and others on vacation would be perfectly comfortable here, Antik has a more central location and similar rates and amenities.

Ibis Praha Old Town
Na Porici 1076/5

On the fringes of Old Town, next to a huge mall and a bus and tram station, the lower-middle-range Ibis Praha Old Town is a good value option for both leisure and corporate travelers. Its 271 rooms are basic and on the small side and views aren't great, but they have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, en-suite bathrooms. In-room kettles and breakfasts are at a fee, and the hotel lacks a restaurant, but it has a fun bar, 24/7 Food Corner, and free Wi-Fi, although connection isn't always reliable. Secure off-site parking is available (at a fee), though with the city's beating heart just outside the hotel's doorstep, guests will unlikely need a car. The Red Chair Hotel is also close to the Old Town and provides free breakfast, but it lacks an elevator.

Hotel Salvator
Truhlarska 1114/10

With a central location, Hotel Salvator offers an intimate, mid-range experience within walking distance of Prague’s historic Old Town, shopping, and dining. This property has a well regarded and romantic restaurant serving cuisine with Latin American influences, a lounge with pool and foosball, and a Jazz Club in the cellar. The 63 homey guest rooms vary in decor -- but all are fairly outmoded. Still, all are equipped with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and kettles. There’s no air-conditioning here, though that’s not unheard of in many Prague hotels. Hotel Clement Prague is a good nearby alternative with a modern design and a free breakfast buffet, but no on-site restaurant.
