The Inn On The River
2492 Parkway

One of the more budget-friendly Pigeon Forge options, the Inn On The River has some of the best river views and access in town. Two pools, picnic areas, and a walking trail along the river make it popular with families and couples. Its central location is also very convenient for tourists, with attractions right across the street or within a short drive or trolley ride. The 128 spacious rooms have maple furniture and conveniences like mini-fridges and Keurig coffeemakers. Half of the rooms feature private balconies overlooking the river. The Best Western Plaza Inn down the Parkway offers similar amenities closer to Dollywood for comparable rates.

Margaritaville Island Hotel
131 Island Drive

Located in the middle of the theme park-like Island in Pigeon Forge and just a 12-minute drive from Dollywood, this upper-middle-range mountain retreat is a memorably eclectic property that feels like a beach vacation in the mountains. Beachy furnishings, live music, and several lounging areas including a rooftop pool bar and lovely spa, make this a magnet for families and couples looking for a lively getaway. Margaritaville Restaurant and Margaritaville Coffee Shop provide ample food choices. The 132 spacious rooms, with ocean-inspired decor and frozen margarita makers, further emphasize the property’s focus on kicking back and having fun. However, all the relaxing comes at hefty prices for the area. The Econo Lodge Riverside has rates that are less eyebrow-raising, but a more modest offering of amenities.

Comfort Inn & Suites at Dollywood Lane
3712 Parkway

The 133-room Comfort Inn & Suites at Dollywood Lane is an attractive value hotel with contemporary design features that’s within a short walk or drive of Pigeon Forge's shops and attractions, including Dollywood. Modern, fresh rooms all have basic kitchenettes and balconies, while some rooms have jetted tubs, fireplaces, and mountain views. The free hot breakfast and the indoor pool with hot tub are major highlights at this property, and guests may also use the Quality Inn’s outdoor pool for free, right next door. Free Wi-Fi and outdoor parking are provided, but there are no fitness or business centers. Guests can also consider The Inn on the River, whose outdoor pool overlooks Little Pigeon River, though rooms aren't as contemporary and it's a bit more expensive.

Creekstone Inn
4034 River Road South

The 112-room Creekstone Inn is a family-run budget hotel with a fantastic riverfront location just off the main drag in Pigeon Forge. Attractions, restaurants, and convenience stores are all within a 10-minute walk, and the town's trolley stops out front. The rooms are no frills and dated, but feature mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffeemakers. Some have flat-screen TVs, fireplaces, and kitchenettes, while others have old tube TVs. A decent free continental breakfast is provided as are vouchers for a great free pancake breakfast at Smoky Mountain Pancake House. In addition to tubing on the river, the hotel has a large seasonal outdoor pool, and though hotels like the comparably-priced Econo Lodge Riverside have an indoor pool as well, the Creekstone does not. Free garage parking and free Wi-Fi are both on offer, but the Wi-Fi can be spotty and slow.

Music Road Resort Hotel
303 Henderson Chapel Rd

The family-owned Music Road Hotel in Pigeon Forge is conveniently located right near the main Parkway, but also borders the serene Little Pigeon River, so many balconies overlook the picturesque natural surroundings. It also has a large convention center, which caters to year-round events; along with a sister hotel across the street, the hotel can host large numbers of guests. The rooms are quite a bit larger than is average for the area, and more upscale than at many other neighboring hotels. Billed as a water park, the indoor and outdoor pools do have more extensive features than average, but calling it a park is a waterslide too far. It has slightly higher rates, more refined interiors, and bigger TVs than sister property, Music Road Inn; it's also on the river and attached to the convention center. But you have to go across the street for the fitness room.

River Place Inn & Cabins
3223 Parkway

The motel-style River Place Inn & Cabins offers attractive rates for a hotel located along Pigeon Forge's main drag, but amenities are limited and rooms get mixed reviews on cleanliness and upkeep. The two-pearl property has 52 units with dated decor, all of which include microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. Cabins and condos come with amenities that are a notch up, like full kitchens, whirlpool tubs, and fireplaces. However, smoking is also allowed in some units. There's no on-site restaurant, and guests are charged for ice, but there's a heated outdoor pool and a grassy area along the river with picnic tables and barbecues. For a slightly higher rate, Clarion Inn offers spacious and tidy rooms and a free hot breakfast, plus a waterslide by the pool.

Music Road Resort Inn
314 Henderson Chapel Rd

The Music Road Inn is the sister property to the family-owned Music Road Hotel across the street. It has nearly identical amenities (with the notable addition of a fitness center) and guests are free to use amenities at either location. The large convention center is attached to the main property nearby, but considered part of the Inn as well, making both hotels popular with groups and business travelers. The rooms are larger than average for the area and have private balconies, although, unlike those at the Hotel, the rooms at the Inn do not have river views. The indoor and outdoor pools are the main draw, and a dedicated kids' pool makes the Inn friendlier for families. Compared to the main Music Road Hotel, the Inn has slightly cheaper rates and smaller TVs, and the rooms are a bit older and more dated in style.

Ramada by Wyndham Pigeon Forge North
2193 Parkway

Ramada Pigeon Forge North is a standard budget property with a convenient location for tourists visiting Pigeon Forge and the Great Smoky Mountains. The 127 rooms are clean, but slightly dated dark. They come with flat-screen TVs, microwaves, and mini-fridges; suites with fireplaces and hot tubs are available. The hotel serves free continental breakfast with cold and hot items, but no other meals. Features include a nice indoor pool, a tiny gym, and coin-operated laundry facilities. A trolley stops out front for transportation to Pigeon Forge shops, restaurants, and attractions. As an alternative, The BEST WESTERN Plaza Inn has an outdoor pool and a kiddy pool, making it a good option for families.

Best Western Plaza Inn
3755 Parkway

This average Best Western has three pools and a convenient location working in its favor. It's got an ideal spot on the parkway in Pigeon Forge for tourists visiting the area's attractions, especially those interested in Dollywood and The Dixie Stampede, both of which are minutes away. There is a free hot breakfast but no restaurant or bar on-site, though there are other dining options within walking distance. The rooms are large, especially for this price range, but bland and in need of some updates. There are three different small pools to choose from -- especially popular with families -- and budget travelers can stretch their dollar with the added freebies like parking and HBO. Up the Parkway, The Inn On The River has similar amenities along with river views for the same rates.

Clarion Inn
124 Waldens Main Street

The Clarion Inn in Pigeon Forge is ideally located for tourists to explore Pigeon Forge and the surrounding area, just a block off the main Parkway and the trolley stop. There's plenty of action for kids, including a game room and multiple pool activities, although the tiny outdoor pool is no more than a landing zone for the waterslide. The large rooms are much better than others in this range, and different rooms have different color palettes; guests can make requests when booking. Restaurants and bars next door are a plus, as the hotel has neither, but also present noise issues at night with loud music. Also of note is the Harley Davidson dealership next door, which pleases enthusiasts, but the ever-present sound of motorcycles is not a welcome sound to all. The nearby Hampton Inn & Suites Pigeon Forge has a few comparable amenities, but avoids the potential noise issues.
