Taal Vista Hotel
Km 60 E.Aguinaldo Hwy

With restaurants and outdoor spaces offering spellbinding lake and mountain panoramas, the historic, four-pearl Taal Vista Hotel is such a Tagaytay landmark that people come just to see the place, if not necessarily to spend the night. The vast open grounds can accommodate the volume of visitors, though the crowds are visible at breakfast and there's limited seating by the outdoor pool. The spacious 261 rooms come with balconies and stunning views steal the show from interiors that pale in comparison. While the hotel is a must-see for tourists, it can be hard to get around the area without a car (parking here is free). For fewer amenities but more character, the smaller, romantic View Park Hotel is more intimate and has cheaper rates.

View Park Hotel
3500 Calamba Road, Sungay - East

The View Park Hotel is a lovely mid-range property in the holiday town of Tagaytay, opposite the scenic Picnic Grove. Inside the hotel's grounds, travelers will find a gorgeous dusky pink townhouse and romantic gardens with lantern-lit walkways, stone stairways, and white balustrades. This three-pearl hotel has 41 traditional rooms, all of which feature air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Features include a well-liked restaurant serving classic Filipino dishes, a small pool, and a spa. The hotel represents excellent value and downsides are the usual for a property in this category (simple rooms and some areas in need of refurbishment). There's also low-key entertainment on the weekends. Travelers looking for a view over the lake might like to consider The Lake Hotel Tagaytay instead, although it has less charm.

The Lake Hotel Tagaytay
Km 58 Emilio Aguinaldo Highway Maharlika East

The Lake Hotel Tagaytay is a three-pearl hotel set high up on Tagaytay’s main strip, with stunning views over Taal Lake and the volcano. This is a clean and smart base that's around a 30-minute drive from popular attractions like the People’s Park and Picnic Grove. However, the reason to stay here is for the views; the hotel’s large lawn, outdoor pool, and 24-hour coffee shop all make the most of the lakeside setting. The 58 rooms have a neutral, mostly modern look, with amenities like air-conditioning, air purifiers, and free Wi-Fi. Downsides? The lawn is a popular local wedding venue and can get busy with day guests. Additionally, many previous guests also feel that the hotel is overpriced -- better value options nearby include the intimate View Park Hotel.
