The District Boracay is a laid-back, upscale boutique directly on White Beach and a short walk from popular nightlife and dining spots in Station 2. Its 48 rooms are sunny, clean, and contemporary, and all have furnished terraces, some with beach views. A lap pool complete with a whirlpool and lounge chairs, a rooftop bar with sunset views, and a spa offering body and foot treatments lend the property a relaxing vibe. Caruso serves tasty Italian cuisine and gets good reviews, and Star Lounge is known for its extensive buffet. Freebies such as breakfast or brunch, Wi-Fi, and airport transfers add value. Travelers looking for a larger property may want to check out the 221-room Henann Lagoon Resort instead.

Shangri-La's Boracay Resort & Spa
Barangay Yapak, Malay, Aklan Province 5608 Philippines

The sprawling Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa is a five-pearl, 219-unit property located in a secluded spot amid lush tropical gardens in northern Boracay. All rooms are stylish and elegant, and villas have private pools or outdoor whirlpools, sweeping ocean views, and butler service. With an excellent spa, varied dining options, tons of activities for all ages, three striking pools, and access to two lovely beaches, there's little guests can’t do on-site. But those seeking to see the sights or experience the island’s famous nightlife can easily access Station 2 via the hotel’s free shuttle. Travelers looking for something more central may want to check out The District Boracay in Station 2 instead -- but it's not as luxurious.

Henann Regency Resort & Spa
Beachfront, Station 2, Malay, Aklan Province 5608 Philippines

The 302-room Henann Regency Resort & Spa is an upper-mid-range resort located right on beautiful White Beach and in the heart of the nightlife and dining area in Station 2. Spacious, clean rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridges, but some are starting to show a little wear and tear, and Wi-Fi is only free in suites and common spaces. With four pools, four restaurants, a popular beach lounge with DJ sessions, nine meeting rooms, and a relaxing spa, the resort is well-suited to all types of travelers, but most guests here are leisure travelers including couples and families. Those who don’t mind being a block from the beach may want to compare rates at sister property Henann Lagoon Resort, which has similar amenities and newer rooms.

Microtel by Wyndham Boracay
Diniwid Beach, Yapak, Malay, Aklan Province 5608 Philippines

The two-and-a-half-pearl, chalet-style Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Boracay offers a homey beachfront vibe on quieter Diniwid Beach. It’s surrounded by palms and enclosed by a bamboo fence. Inside, decor is simple and bland. The 51 rooms are clean, with basic amenities like air-conditioning and TVs, but there’s no mini fridge and in-room Wi-Fi comes at a fee. Some rooms have gorgeous sea views. Freebies include breakfast, free-flowing coffee, and shuttle service to and from Station 2’s popular D’Mall. However, the road to the hotel has drainage issues and we spotted some interior wear. Families and couples are drawn to the quieter, hassle-free setting, but travelers wanting to be closer to Station 1's action might consider the similar Boracay Beach Club, where rates are often the same.

El Nido Resorts Apulit Island
Apulit Island, Taytay

Located on a remote beach in northeastern Palawan, the four-pearl El Nido Resorts Apulit Island is a stunning, intimate retreat for those looking to get in touch with nature. Its 50 rooms are housed in stand-alone thatched cottages built on stilts directly over the clear waters. Interiors are simple and in-room amenities are limited, but that only adds to the unplugged feel and tranquil vibe. The property offers a wide array of on-site activities, including water sports, a PADI diving center, and a beautiful infinity pool with beach and sea views. In line with the hotel’s many eco-friendly practices, the buffet restaurant serves a menu made with sustainable ingredients, and meals are included in the rate. Getting to the hotel can be quite an ordeal -- it requires a combination of air, land and sea transfers -- but the gorgeous setting and peaceful atmosphere are well worth it.
