DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln
Doubletree By Hilton Brayford Wharf North

The DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln is a modern chain hotel that opened in 2011 on Lincoln’s bustling Brayford Wharf. The upper-middle-range property is surrounded by waterfront restaurants and bars in a lively, up-and-coming area. While it's within walking distance to the old city’s Cathedral and Castle, it requires climbing a steep hill. Rooms are clean and spacious, and come with free Wi-Fi, coffeemakers, and nice bathrooms. But, they’re rather dark and a few rooms don’t have windows. Highlights include a rooftop steakhouse and popular bar with great views, fitness center, event space, and concierge services. On-site parking is expensive, limited, and not guaranteed. Travelers who prefer to be closer to attractions in the old city might want to consider The Lincoln Hotel.

Mt. Coolidge Motel
386 US Route 3

Mt. Coolidge Motel is a budget property reminiscent of roadside mom-and-pop hotels from a bygone era. The property is located between Route 3 and the Pemigewasset River, making it both convenient and picturesque. There aren't many amenities other than an outdoor swimming pool and free coffee in the morning, and rooms are extremely dated; picture pink-tiled bathrooms and floral bedspreads. Rooms are spacious, however, and units enjoy awesome views of the Pemigewasset River in back of the hotel. There are also chairs and a small fire pit for relaxing, and parking and Wi-Fi are free. The family-owned motel makes a clean and comfortable (and basic) base from which to explore the area, and is a good value for the price.

Mountain Club On Loon
90 Loon Mountain Rd

Mountain Club on Loon is a mid-range, somewhat dated resort located in the White Mountain National Forest. It's a nice getaway for travelers looking for scenic views and outdoor adventure any time of the year, but it's especially popular with families during the ski season. While the decor in some of the 117 units can be drab, the property's location on the mountain and the amenities are hard to beat for the area. There are ski trails right in the hotel's backyard, and the room rate includes use of the hotel's sauna, steam room, and whirlpool. Spa treatments are also available for an extra fee. The hotel offers rooms and suites, which are individually-owned in the style of timeshares. Many of the units could use updates; some have kitchens and balconies.

The Village Of Loon Mountain
72 Loon Village Road

The 88-room Village of Loon Mountain is an average mid-range mountain resort catering to families and groups on a budget. Located right across the road from Loon Mountain Ski Resort, the property is a convenient pick in the winter, but with indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, a games room, and sports facilities, there is plenty to do on-site year-round. Spacious condos have up to three rooms, full kitchens, and living rooms with gas fireplaces, but most could use an update, and a few lack air-conditioning. The Mountain Club on Loon across the road has similar amenities but rates are generally higher.
