Inn of Naples
4055 Tamiami Trl N

The Inn at Naples is a 99-room, mid-range property offering clean, modern accommodations that are quite affordable compared to nearby hotels. Guest rooms are spacious and colorful, with balconies, mini-fridges, and flat-screen TVs. With free continental breakfast and parking, an outdoor pool, and a pretty entranceway with colorful flowers and palm trees, the hotel provides a comfortable home base for tourists. A no-hassle hotel, it's in close proximity to points of interest such as the beach, downtown Naples, 5th Avenue South, and the zoo. The fitness center is very small, and there's no on-site dining other than breakfast.

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples
2600 Tiburon Dr

**This hotel was impacted by *Hurricane Irma* in September 2017. We will update our review as soon as we have more information.** The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples is a 295-room, five-pearl property with a Mediterranean style located about a 10-minute drive from the beach. For those who can afford its high rates, the property offers VIP service and plenty of luxe amenities, including a golf club with two PGA-level courses. The heated outdoor pool, spa with treatments for golfers, and two restaurants make this a good option for golf enthusiasts, as well as families who don't want to leave the resort confines. Top-notch rooms and suites have balconies, premium movie channels, and marble bathrooms -- but no free Wi-Fi. Sand-seekers may prefer the Naples Grande Beach Resort, which offers a similar array of amenities plus a beachfront.

Staybridge Suites Naples-Gulf Coast
4805 Tamiami Trl N

This mid-range chain hotel offers clean, contemporary, and inviting interiors in Naples' Park Shore neighborhood, which is around a 12-minute drive to the downtown area and six minutes to the Clam Pass Park Beach. The 122 clean suites have living areas/rooms as well as kitchenettes with stoves, microwaves, coffeemakers, full fridges, and dishwashers -- but note that guests have complained of poor shower pressure. The hotel has an attractive outdoor pool and a hot tub with a poolside tiki bar. Freebies include a hot breakfast buffet and evening socials with beer, wine, and light meals. The fitness center is small and not very well equipped. For something closer to the downtown area, check out the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Naples, which also has a pool and offers suites with kitchenettes.

Hilton Naples
5111 Tamiami Trl N

The grounds of Hilton Naples hotel conjure those of an ‘80s-inflected Spanish villa -- grandiose, with a few dated touches. Guests comment that the beds in the 199 rooms are comfortable and the amenities, which include a large fitness center and fairly pricey steakhouse, generally outweigh the inconvenience of the property’s distance from the beach. There’s also free shuttle service to the beach with free towels, lounge chairs, and water. The hotel is situated a short walk from a luxury pedestrian shopping mall as well.

UNAHOTELS Napoli
Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi 9/10

The 89-room UNA Hotel Napoli is an upscale chain property set in bustling Garibaldi Square, near the Naples Central Train Station and in walking distance to the historic district. Panoramic views can be seen from the terrace, which is beside the Mediterranean restaurant and cocktail bar. The hotel also has four meeting rooms and a computer corner, and its location is convenient for business travelers. Contemporary rooms have colorfully painted walls and/or exposed brick, flat-screen TVs, and minibars, and some have balconies. The location comes with the inevitable city risks and traffic congestion. For similar rates, the M Gallery Palazzo Caracciolo has a quieter atmosphere.

Hotel San Francesco al Monte
Corso Vittorio Emanuele 328

The 45-room Hotel San Francesco al Monte is a charming property converted from a 16th-century monastery. The highlight here is panoramic views over the city rooftops to the Bay of Naples -- from the seasonal outdoor pool, pleasant roof garden, and many of the rooms. The hotel is a little off the beaten path (a short walk from the Montesanto metro station) but there is a spa, seasonal pool bar, and two restaurants, one set in the monastery's ancient vineyard. Rooms have frescoes and gilded headboards, but can be on the dark side and there is a fee for Wi-Fi in the rooms.

Palazzo Caracciolo Napoli MGallery by Sofitel
Via Carbonara 112

Once the home of the king of Naples, the Palazzo Caracciolo now houses an upscale boutique that is part of the MGallery Collection of Accor Hotels. The stylish, contemporary interiors are a striking counterpoint to the historic architecture. The 139 rooms feature all-white decor with silver accents, modern bathrooms with black and cream tiling, and solid amenities, such as flat-screen TVs, stocked minibars, and free Wi-Fi. The lovely cloister is a favorite among guests for a quiet drink at night, and the Mediterranean restaurant is a solid pick for those who wish to sample regional cuisine. But the fitness center is off-site, and guests have to pay a fee to use the facilities. While its central location offers easy access to the historic parts of Naples, the hotel’s immediate neighborhood is somewhat dilapidated and feels dangerous to some.

La Ciliegina Lifestyle Hotel
Via Paolo Emilio Imbriani 30, P.zza Municipio

Open since 2010, the 14-room La Ciliegina Lifestyle Hotel is a cool boutique located on the third floor of an office building. Intimate but without many of the major hotel amenities, the La Ciliegina is thoughtfully furnished with unusual details and has a bright, whitewashed Mediterranean feeling that extends to the rooftop terrace, where Bellinis and views can be enjoyed from a whirlpool.

Royal Continental Hotel
Via Partenope 38/44

The 397-room, four-star Royal Continental Hotel bills itself as a "boutique" property, but in actuality it is the largest convention center in Naples. Located in a quiet pedestrian area by the Bay of Naples, the Royal Continental has a wide variety of facilities for business travelers, including a full theater and exhibition hall, but tourists will also appreciate the location, away from Naples' inner-city crush and surrounded by cafes and restaurants.

Hotel Piazza Bellini & Apartments
Via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli 101, Centro Storico

In a restored 16th-century palace, the three-star Hotel Piazza Bellini has gotten a modern makeover. This playfully stylish property, in Naples’ historic center, a neighborhood full of galleries and craft shops, attracts a young, artistic crowd. The hotel entices guest to book directly through its website by offering a free drink, a bag of artisan pasta, and the choice of terrace or bilevel rooms that are available exclusively through the website. It's a good value for travelers looking for a hip but inexpensive base for exploring Naples.
