Elcano Hotel
Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman 75

Elcano Hotel is a three-pearl property on a prime location in Acapulco’s Golden Zone. The rear of the hotel faces towards popular Playa Icacos and the front opens onto the buzzing bars and shops found along Avenida Costera. Opened in the late 1950s, the hotel exudes a certain nostalgic charm, but its no surprise that the retro lobby and 180 guest rooms show their age. The hotel features an outdoor pool, restaurant, and bar, all of which are relatively standard but do offer beautiful views of Acapulco Bay. The nearby Emporio Acapulco Hotel and Crowne Plaza Acapulco offer similar amenities in the same price category, so it’s worth comparing rates.

Grand Hotel Acapulco And Convention Center
Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman # 1, Col. Icacos

Grand Hotel Acapulco is a sprawling, three-and-a-half-pearl family-friendly hotel at the very end of Acapulco’s gorgeous Playa Icacos. It’s 537 air-conditioned rooms range from dated Standard Rooms to posh Suites with marble accents, flat-screen TV with cable channels, and private balconies with gorgeous ocean views (although some are partial-ocean views). The hotel’s three restaurants (buffet, seafood, and Mexican) get mostly positive reviews and a poolside snack shack opened in 2017. Other hotel amenities include two freshwater pools (one is chlorine-free), a kids' club, a huge ocean-view gym, and a full-service spa. There's a sandy beach with thatch cabanas, but they cost a fee to use. For a family-friendly oceanfront option in central Acapulco, a gorgeous beach, two pools and a big water slide, its worth pricing out Krystal Beach Acapulco.

Fiesta Americana Acapulco Villas
Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman 97, Fraccionamiento Farallon

Fiesta Americana Villas Acapulco is an upper-middle-range hotel located in Acapulco’s Golden Zone. The hotel is set in a prime location on Playa Condesa, within a five-minute walk of the many dining and entertainment options found along Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman. Its 324 simple guest rooms offer private balconies with ocean views and bathrooms with shower/tub combos. Pools are large and include some intriguing decorative features, but the beach is crowded and the on-site restaurants are dull. Consider the Fairmont Pierre Marques for a quieter beach and higher-quality restaurants.

Ritz Acapulco
Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman 159

Ritz Acapulco is a lower-middle-range hotel located in the city’s Golden Zone on prime beachfront of Acapulco Bay, making the hotel a convenient base for water sports, shopping, and bar-hopping. Its 240 rooms are generic but clean, with the majority featuring furnished balconies and shower/tub combos. The hotel’s all-inclusive package is extremely budget-friendly, but the buffet meals are only average and the medium-size pool gets quite busy. The hotel is filled with guests happily piling their plates with food and jumping into the pool to join the aqua aerobics class. Travelers might also want to consider Sands Acapulco Hotel & Bungalows, another budget property that includes mini-golf, trampolines, and zip-lines.

Quinta Real Acapulco
Paseo de la Quinta 6, Fracc. Real Diamante

Quinta Real Acapulco is a four-pearl oceanfront hotel with stunning Pacific Ocean views in Acapulco’s Diamond Zone. The posh hotel’s 62 rooms have king or double beds, marble floors and counters, plush love seats or couches, and breathtaking ocean views from balconies (some with private plunge pools). Quinta Real’s two pricy restaurants serve Mexican and international cuisine and the main cliff-top restaurant has phenomenal ocean views that might be better than the food. Most hotel amenities also have ocean views, including the gym with floor-to-ceiling windows, the full-service spa, and the bar. An infinity pool and a shallow kids' pool are right next to the gorgeous partially private Revolcadero Beach, that requires stairs to reach. For lower rates and a comfortable stay with multiple pools, four restaurants, and a gorgeous beach, the Grand Hotel Acapulco is worth a visit.

Acapulco Malibu
Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman 20, Fracc. Club Deportivo

Acapulco Malibu is a three-pearl hotel located along bustling Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman, the city’s main tourist artery. The center of Acapulco’s nightlife and entertainment scene, the street is lined with a huge selection of shops, restaurants, and bars. While the hotel’s 80 rooms have an interesting circular layout, decor is dated and lackluster. The two pools are pleasant if unremarkable. Tabasco Beach, the on-site restaurant, faces scenic Santa Lucia Bay, and serves international and Mexican fare. It’s worth comparing rates with Emporio Acapulco Hotel down the street, which offers similar amenities but more modern guest rooms.

Holiday Inn Resort Acapulco
Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman 2311

The Holiday Inn Resort Acapulco is a three-and-a-half pearl oceanfront hotel along crescent-shaped Acapulco Bay. The resort's 220 rooms are a mix of Suites, Superior, and Standard Rooms with bright interiors, natural-toned wood-veneer furniture, flat-screen TVs, and private ocean-view balconies. The ocean-view restaurant gets mostly positive reviews and serves an international and local breakfast buffet, and a la carte lunch and dinner menus. The hotel has also two freshwater pools -- one for adults and one for kids. With it’s kids club, table-tennis table, and free meals for kids under 12, it’s a family-friendly spot, for sure. Other amenities include a small private beach, gym, bar, and free fast Wi-Fi. For an oceanfront stay with four restaurants, two huge pools, and great gym, it's worth pricing out the Grand Hotel Acapulco

Sands Acapulco Hotel & Bungalows
Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman 178, Frac. Magallanes

Sands Acapulco Hotel & Bungalows is a two-and-a-half pearl hotel located in the tourist heavy Golden Zone. The hotel’s 59 guest rooms and bungalows are clean, but their decor is drab and needs updating. Geared towards families with young children, the hotel offers three playgrounds, mini-golf, a lovely outdoor pool, and an inviting open-air restaurant. There are dozens of shops, bars, and restaurants found within a five-minute walk of the hotel, and Playa Condesa is located across the street. For a slightly higher rate, Alba Suites offers direct access to a small beach but its location is farther from downtown.

Calinda Beach Acapulco
Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman 1260, Fraccionamiento Club Deportivo C.P.

With a gorgeous beachfront location and a mini-golf course, Calinda Beach Acapulco is a three-pearl, family-friendly, all-inclusive hotel on Acapulco’s Calinda Beach. Its 355 bright, air-conditioned rooms have double or king beds, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, mini-fridges, marble bathrooms, and small balconies with ocean or mountain views. They're a bit dated, but will suffice. The hotel’s buffet restaurant serves tasty Mexican cuisine, and overlooks the pool and ocean. Amenities include a decent gym, a kids' club, two bars, a nightclub, and huge event spaces with panoramic ocean views. Unfortunately, the pools are small and crowded, and maintenance issues aren't uncommon. For a hotel with a quieter beach and a huge gym, it’s worth pricing out the Grand Hotel Acapulco instead, located just down the beach.

Krystal Beach Acapulco
Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman 163, Fracc. Magallanes

Krystal Beach Acapulco is a three-pearl, family-friendly hotel on the east end of Acapulco’s gorgeous Playa Papagayo. Krystal Beach’s beautiful beach is lined with thatch cabanas and plastic chairs and lounge chairs, but it can get crowded. The two ocean-view freshwater pools are the main draw, and include an infinity pool and a shallow kids' pool, a whirlpool, and a tall, pirate-themed waterslide. The hotel has three restaurants, all with ocean views, including one specializing in pozole, a traditional Acapulco corn and chicken dish. All-inclusive rates are available, but the restaurants get mixed reviews. The 400 air-conditioned guest rooms are bright with lots of windows, king or double beds, marble-accented bathrooms, and private balconies with ocean or mountain views. For an ocean-front, family-friendly hotel with multiple restaurants, pools, and amazing views, its worth pricing out Grand Hotel Acapulco.
