Marvin Gardens Motel
84 Saco Ave

The two-pearl Marvin Gardens Motel is a decent budget option in Old Orchard Beach. It’s a bit farther than many other area properties from the beach at a two-minute drive or 10-minute walk, but it’s cheaper in the summer high season. A small seasonal outdoor pool is on-site, and the hotel also has picnic tables and propane grills for guest use. No breakfast or other food service is offered, but several restaurants are within a short walk. Amenities are a plus in the 11 simple, rustic motel rooms and cottages (closed in winter), as all come with flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. Cottages with jetted tubs are also available. For a step up, the Beachwood Hotel is located right on the beach and features a pool, two hot tubs, and units with kitchens, but rates are often more expensive, particularly in summer.

Ocean Walk Hotel
197 E Grand Ave

The 45-room Ocean Walk Hotel is a quaint, well-maintained, value property on Old Orchard Beach with colorful Adirondack chairs on the sand and ice cream and kites for sale in the lobby. Comfortable, basic Studios and One-Bedroom Suites offer flat-screen or tube TVs, kitchens, and shared balconies or patios (many with ocean views). The hotel has barbecue grills and a heated indoor pool. There isn’t an elevator, so guests who stay on the second floor must take the stairs. It’s a five-minute drive to downtown, but guests wanting to be closer to the Old Orchard’s main pier may prefer staying at The Beachwood instead.

The Beachwood
29 W Grand Ave

The Beachwood is a clean, modern, family-owned motel off the shores of Saco Bay. Reasonably priced and with a small kitchen in each cheerfully outfitted room, The Beachwood offers a practical vacation option for budget-conscious families. There are a range of room layouts, and some may feel cramped while others are more spacious and comfortable. The patio area with several grills is nice for group dinners, while the pool and hot tubs offer alternatives to the beach. The motel is just a short walk from Old Orchard’s main pier, and near restaurants, shops, and attractions.
