Hotel Villa Dirce
Via Quattro Novembre 80

The three-pearl Hotel Villa Dirce offers great view after great view of Lake Garda from its public spaces and rooms. The outdoor pool and hot tub, as well as the restaurant, all take advantage of the stunning views, so it’s a shame to report that the rooms and public spaces have a very simple and dated style. Though a free hot and cold breakfast are well-liked, as are free Wi-Fi and parking, the hotel isn’t very mobility friendly and is located about a 20-minute walk from Limone Sul Garda. Hotel Le Palme may also dated rooms, but it’s a good alternative with similar amenities, and is closer to the city center of Limone Sul Garda.

Leonardo Da Vinci Hotel
Via Quattro Novembre 3

The three-pearl Leonardo da Vinci Hotel sits on the banks of Lake Garda, a 15-minute walk (or free shuttle ride) from the center of Limone sul Garda. Set at the foot of the Bresciano Hills, the hotel has gorgeous views of the lake, particularly from the outdoor pool with separate kiddy pool. Many of the 240 rooms overlook the lake, but they're badly outdated with aged furniture and tattered bedlinen. Common areas here are not much better. The hotel does offers a generous all-inclusive package with free drinks, though good gets mixed reviews. There are also a small spa with a hammam and sauna, a decently equipped gym, and an indoor pool. Though also dated, Hotel Splendid Palace offers better maintained interiors and free daily happy hour.

Hotel Splendid Palace
Via IV Novembre, 66

It’s all about the gorgeous views at this 130-room, old-fashioned and three-pearl property flanked by Lake Garda and the Limone mountains. Interiors are clean but dated-looking, and the amenities are exceptional: they include three pools and an outdoor hot tub, a buffet-style restaurant, free daily happy hour, and free breakfast. Room decor and amenities aren’t the most modern -- showers are tiny, there are no coffee-or-tea-making facilities, and charges apply for safes and Wi-Fi -- but offer balconies to enjoy the picturesque surroundings. While the hotel is walkable to the village center, its location on a hill can be inconvenient to access, especially for its mostly elderly guests. The nearby Hotel Alexander has a slightly more modern aesthetic, and is on a gentler slope.

Park Hotel Imperial - Centro Tao
Via Tamas 10/B

The upscale Park Hotel Imperial – Centro Tao is located in a small Italian village a 12-minute walk from the coast of Lago di Garda. Lovely gardens provide beautiful scenery, while a pool, lounge bar, and huge spa make for a romantic atmosphere. Half-board and bed-and-breakfast packages are available at the contemporary restaurant. When all of the renovations are completed in 2018, all of the 61 rooms will have an elegant design to accompany amenities like flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges with free water, and kettles. Hotel Alexander is a good alternative with similar amenities and a closer location to the lake.

Hotel Monte Baldo
Via Porto 29

The three-pearl Hotel Monte Baldo is a charming family-run property that's peacefully located on the shore of Lake Garda. Its excellent restaurant has a terrace overlooking the lake, and the menu features homemade pasta and organic meat. The 12 rooms have gorgeous views of the lake -- some from large furnished balconies and terraces -- although their traditional furnishings are a bit dated. The hotel is best positioned for town-hopping around the lake, though day trips elsewhere without a car can be cumbersome due to limited public transit. There's little here for kids, so families may prefer Hotel Caesius Thermae Spa, which has two children's pools and a spa for the grown-ups.
