Staybridge Suites Las Vegas

An extended-stay hotel -- not priced to compete with the bigger hotel-casinos on the Strip, just five minutes away -- the 118 clean, modern, apartment-style guest rooms at the Staybridge Suites best those at the nearby Residence Inn in terms of features and in-room comforts; but it's immediate surroundings are a bit barren.

Park MGM Las Vegas

Formerly the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, the upscale Park MGM Las Vegas opened in 2018 after a multimillion-dollar renovation, providing a sleek and relaxed atmosphere for a crowd of largely younger travelers. The whopping 2,700 rooms and suites are hip and well-outfitted with Bluetooth, sitting areas, and free Wi-Fi, plus some have wellness amenities or stellar views. However, lower-category rooms lack fridges and coffee-making facilities. As with most Vegas properties, features are extensive, consisting of a casino, theater with renowned entertainment, a plethora of casual and gourmet dining options, an outdoor pool, and full-service spa. For a lively hotel with a larger pool complex, stick to the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino.

Desert Rose Resort

A 278-unit time-share near the Strip, the Desert Rose features stylish but smaller-than-average suites. Even though you'll find little to do on-site, the convenient location makes it a great base for exploring the casinos (including nearby Hooters), and the friendly service and spotless rooms make for a comfortable stay.
