Sheraton Suites Houston Near The Galleria
2400 West Loop S

Sheraton Suites Houston Near the Galleria is a modern, business-friendly hotel with 8,000 square feet of meeting space, a 24-hour business center and nicely equipped gym, and a late-night market. Simple, business-style suites feature classically decorated sitting areas, desks, and wet bars. Guests in club rooms -- and Starwood Preferred Guest members -- receive free breakfast and other perks in the Sheraton Club. All guests can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, and contemporary restaurant and wine lounge. This location by The Galleria appeals to tourists, but the hotel’s pricey parking fees are a source of frustration. For free parking, it may be worthwhile to check prices at the Westin Galleria Houston Hotel.

The Westin Oaks Houston At The Galleria
5011 Westheimer At Post Oak

Located in the biggest mall in Texas, the 406-room Westin Oaks Houston at the Galleria is an upscale property that has direct access to 400 shops and restaurants, but the price tag is on the expensive side. The hotel has many features, including an outdoor pool surrounded by lounge chairs, a market, a 24-hour gym, and a bar and restaurant in the lobby. A 24-hour computer center and 12 meeting rooms appeal to business travelers. Modern, spacious, if plain rooms have narrow balconies with city views, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers; some have cardio equipment. One- and two-bedroom suites have living rooms, but there’s no free Wi-Fi in any of the rooms (though guests can connect for free in the lobby). The Royal Sonesta Hotel Houston, which has free Wi-Fi, may be an alternative.

Hotel ZaZa Houston Museum District

The funky boutique Hotel ZaZa Houston (with a sister property in Dallas) is stylishly designed, with an excess of quirky artwork, patterned pillows and lampshades, and various adornments. Sometimes over-the-top, but often fun, the hotel establishes itself as a unique option for upscale travelers. Even the most basic rooms have a flair for color and design while offering spaciousness and rainforest showers in bathrooms. Located in Houston’s museum district, the ZaZa is near a number of important cultural attractions and dining options. The European-style pool and on-site restaurant, Monarch, keeps things convenient for those who are less interested in exploring.

Four Seasons Hotel Houston

The 404-room luxury high-rise Four Seasons Hotel Houston caters to both business and leisure travelers. Located in downtown Houston’s business district, the hotel is within walking distance of the convention center, Toyota Center, Minute Maid Park, and such top restaurants as The Grove and Vic & Anthony's. Rooms come in a variety of sizes, including one- and two-bedroom residential-style suites. The hotel has a beautiful rooftop pool and whirlpool, a 24-hour fitness center with a wide array of cardio- and weight-training equipment, a business center with translation and interpretation services available, and a full-service spa. Travelers could compare rates and amenities with the five-pearl Hotel Granduca.

Crowne Plaza Houston River Oaks
2712 Southwest Fwy

The mid-range, 354-room Crown Plaza River Oaks provides an affordable hotel option in the heart of Houston, near shops, restaurants, and entertainment. A chain hotel, the Crown Plaza offers convenience and simple but sizable rooms, with categories ranging from Standard Rooms to suites. As an added perk, the property has a spa attached, which offers an array of body and beauty treatments as well as massages. The hotel has a fitness center and moderately sized outdoor pool. On-site meeting rooms and event spaces are extensive.

Comfort Suites Houston West Beltway 8
7707 W Sam Houston Pkwy S

Opened in 2014, the 74-room Comfort Suites near Westchase on Beltway 8 is a mid-range chain hotel that's a bit far from the downtown area, but close to many corporate headquarters, attracting mainly business travelers. The property gets glowing reviews from past guests who commend the cleanliness of the rooms and the generous buffet breakfast, which is included in rates. Spacious guest rooms have separate living areas and extras like microwaves and coffeemakers. Other property highlights include an outdoor pool and a fitness center. The hotel’s location next to the Sam Houston Parkway means that traffic noise can be an issue, however. Travelers might also want to consider the comparable Sleep Inn & Suites I-45/Airtex.

The Westin Galleria Houston
5060 W Alabama St

The 487-room Westin Galleria Houston Hotel is an upscale property attached to Texas’ largest mall, offering direct access to high-end shops and restaurants. The hotel has a rooftop pool as well as a large and well-equipped fitness center, plus expansive conference facilities with 36 meeting spaces and a business center. The casual Daily Grill offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but there's plenty of dining options at the mall as well as a restaurant and lobby bar at the nearby sister property, Westin Oaks Houston. Modern, simple rooms have flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers, while suites offer sitting areas and wet bars, but noise might be an issue due to thin walls, and in-room Wi-Fi is free only for Starwood Preferred Guests. Interiors are contemporary, but a bit bland and lack the character that can be found at the upscale Hotel Derek Houston Galleria.

JW Marriott Houston by the Galleria
5150 Westheimer Rd

The four-pearl JW Marriott is a tasteful business hotel located right across the street from the Galleria, the largest mall in Texas. The 516 rooms are modern and spacious, with roomy walk-in showers, room service, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers. It’s an upscale experience, with a beautiful marble lobby and amenities you might expect from a flagship Marriott property, including two restaurants, a Starbucks, 40,000 feet of meeting space, a huge and well-equipped fitness center, and an indoor/outdoor heated pool. However, there are no spa facilities.  Rates are competitive and in line with other higher-end area hotels, including the upscale Westin hotels attached to the Galleria: The Westin Oaks Houston at the Galleria and The Westin Galleria Houston Hotel, which offer free self parking.

Wyndham Houston - Medical Center Hotel and Suites
6800 Main St

The upper-middle-range Wyndham Houston – Medical Center Hotel and Suites offers comfortable accommodations at affordable rates, within walking distance of Texas Medical Center. Its 287 guest rooms are contemporary, but decor is generic and bland. All units have flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi, but there are no safes and not all have microwaves. Some higher-end units add fully equipped kitchens. Highlights include a full-service restaurant and bar, pool, and fitness center. Affordable rates make it a solid value, but nothing really stands out at this chain hotel. Travelers looking for a stay at a similar price point the comes with free breakfast can consider Best Western Plaza Hotel & Suites at Medical Center.

Hotel Indigo Houston at the Galleria
5160 Hidalgo St, Galleria / Uptown

From the outside, the 131-room Hotel Indigo resembles the Embassy Suites chain across the way, but its interior is considerably more stylish. Cool cobalt blue walls, striped chairs, and beachy murals make it feel like a beach resort in the center of Houston. The rooms are fresh and bright, with tall ceilings and nautical-themed furnishings. Small kitchenettes feature sinks, tiny coffeemakers, and mini-fridges; microwaves are featured in all suites as well, and in standard rooms upon request. Modern bathrooms have walk-in showers, half enclosed with glass (there's no door). Crossroads Bistro & Bar serves casual fare for breakfast and dinner, and the small fitness center has modern equipment (though the free weights are beat up). Business travelers will likely appreciate the business center and meeting rooms, as shopping-minded visitors will appreciate the proximity to the Houston Galleria.
