Atlantis Hotel
Mitropoleos

Atlantis Hotel is an elegant, upper-middle-range landmark property dating back to the 1950s set in the bustling tourist center of Fira. It certainly ticks the boxes in regards to views, with the stunning caldera vistas viewable from its pool area, alfresco terrace, and most of its 25 rooms. While guest rooms are clean and modern, bathrooms are a little drab and some rooms are prone to both street and internal noise. Overall prices are competitive for a room with a view, though it's also worth comparing rates with the Astro Palace Hotel and Suites, which has a spa, and Tzekos Villas, where suites with hot tubs are available.

The Majestic Hotel
Main Street

The Majestic Hotel is a bit of an anomaly among the numerous, cozy boutiques so abundant in Santorini. It's big, modern, and lacking a certain charm, but does provide a seriously extensive list of facilities -- three pools, two restaurants, and a spa. It's definitely more family-friendly than most too, and rooms are luxurious with impressive amenities. If it's more intimate you're after, however, try Anteliz Suites, for around the same price.

Volcano View Hotel Santorini
Mesaria 84700 Greece

The 92-room Volcano View Hotel Santorini stands apart from other four-pearl properties in the area with its contemporary designs and private cliffside terraces facing the coastline and Aegean. Modern rooms feature traditional Santorinian architecture and sea vistas from terraces, and the villas have private pools and kitchenettes. Tiered terrace common areas have three pools, a massage canopy, a poolside bar, and a dining patio for the on-site Greek restaurant. Breakfast is included in room rates. This hotel is a solid option for well-to-do couples, but the pool bar closes early and the location is removed (although there is a free shuttle to town). Those looking for a more centrally located hotel could consider the Aria Suites.

Aressana Spa Hotel and Suites
Main Street, Fira 84700 Greece

The Aressana Spa Hotel and Suites certainly presents itself well as a luxury spa destination, with its pristine whitewashed facade and ever-so stylish lobby. Spa treatments are genuinely unique, and the emphasis on locally-sourced produce also extends to the organic restaurant. There is a long swimming pool and lounge area with sea views. A big negative is lack of sea views in most rooms, which is why many choose Santorini in the first place, so if you want luxury accommodation with a panorama, check out the Andronis Boutique Hotel or the nearby Anteliz Suites.

Loizos Stylish Residences
Loizos Stylish Residences, Fira 847 00 Greece

The three-pearl Loizos Stylish Residences has one of the best locations in Fira for those who are willing to trade caldera views for lower rates and fewer steps. It's located on the edge of the caldera path that runs past the sunset views, shops, and restaurants in Fira Town, but the slightly out of the way location means few crowds to contend with and lower rates. Apart from location, the hotel offers an excellent breakfast buffet with hot and Greek items (for a fee), a small courtyard pool with chic sun loungers, and free Wi-Fi. The 27 rooms are comfortable and some have kitchenettes. While all the units are pleasant, some of them fall short of "stylish." For travelers who must have direct caldera views in Fira, check rates at Tzekos Villas.
