Jaz Belvedere
El Montaza, Behind Sharm el Sheikh Airport

The 317-room Jaz Belvedere is an upscale vacation complex set in a secluded spot on Montaza Beach, about a 20-minute drive to Sharm El Sheikh's Naama Bay. The resort's interiors are decked out in elegant Arabian styling and the lush grounds are well tended and full of tropical plants, with two large swimming pools as well as a private sandy beach. Though there are only two restaurants, food is above average compared to similar resorts in the area. While rooms are clean and pleasant, decor and amenities are a bit lackluster, with no Wi-Fi and old tube-style TVs in some units. Despite this, it's one of the finer all-inclusive options in the area, though travelers might also want to consider the similar Novotel resort, which is not as isolated and closer to the action of the touristy areas.

Hilton Sharm Waterfalls Resort
Ras Um El-Sid Cliff

The 401-room Hilton Sharm Waterfalls Resort is an upper-middle-range vacation complex set on a hillside overlooking the Red Sea, about a 15-minute drive from Sharm el Sheikh's main tourist hub. While the rooms are fairly plain and simply furnished, they offer the comforts of minibars, tea/coffee facilities, and high-quality toiletries; some have outstanding sea views. The waterfall gardens are particularly attractive with funicular carriages that transport guests back uphill (though these are not always in service). Pools are numerous and the beach, though small, is pleasant and has an excellent off-shore reef. There are a kids' club and kids' playground, but families looking for abundant kids' facilities may want compare rates with Coral Sea Waterworld or Concorde El Salam Hotel.

Sharm Dreams Resort
210 Naama Bay

The 394-room Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort is a large, family-friendly complex located in Sharm El Sheikh's main tourist center of Naama Bay and a short walk from its restaurants, shops, and nightlife. While the upper-middle-range resort has plenty to offer in way of facilities, including nine pools, it falls short of the brand's usual standards of presentation and upkeep. Lack of a private beach (guests can use the sister property's beach across the road) and dated rooms also detract from its appeal, though children are well catered for and there are several decent dining options. For a better upscale chain experience, the nearby Hyatt Regency Sharm El Sheikh Resort has a lot more polish, albeit at slightly higher rates.

Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh
1 Four Seasons Boulevard, Sinai Peninsula

As expected of this luxury brand, the 136-room Four Seasons Resort has all the hallmarks of a five-pearl hotel -- plentiful quality dining, lovely swimming pools, and beautiful sea views. Spacious, elegant rooms all have private outdoor balconies or terraces, most with lovely sea views, and lots of tech amenities can be rented for a fee, such as iPads and game consoles. The private beach, though a bit small, offers excellent diving and snorkeling opportunities as well as two yachts available for guests' use. There are also a spa, tennis center, and a kids' club. This is easily one of the top luxury resorts in Sharm El Sheikh; only the nearby Royal Savoy Sharm El Sheikh can compare. Just note that unlike many luxury resorts in the area, this is not an all-inclusive property, and extras can add up.

Grand Rotana Resort & Spa
Sharks Bay, P.O.Box:296

At 526 rooms, the Grand Rotana Resort & Spa is one of the larger upscale Sharm El Sheikh complexes in the area. It also features one of the biggest swimming pools set in over 30 acres of tropical gardens. While rooms are clean and well-maintained, some feel a little dated (and even have old-style TVs). There are several varied dining options and bars, as well as plenty to keep the little ones entertained. If lack of a real beach is a deal-breaker, however, travelers should consider the Coral Sea Holiday Village in the more beach-friendly Nabq district instead.

The Royal Savoy Sharm El Sheikh
Soho Square

The Royal Savoy Sharm El Sheikh is the exclusive wing of the five-pearl Savoy Sharm El Sheikh complex and offers a luxurious experience in a prime location right next to the Soho Square center, which is full of restaurants, nightlife, and a host of activities. There are three pools and a small beach, and guests also have access to all of the main hotel's facilities, which include several restaurants and a spa. The 36 spacious, high-end rooms and suites are bedecked in plenty of deluxe touches, including fresh flowers and large, furnished balconies that overlook the pools or gardens, and luxurious villas with private pools and gardens are also available. The hotel's adults-only policy means that the atmosphere is peaceful; families traveling with kids and still hankering after the high-end experience should consider the nearby Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh instead.

Coral Sea Holiday Village
Nabq Bay

The 484-room Coral Sea Holiday Village is an upscale, all-inclusive resort located in the newly developed Nabq Bay area of Sharm El Sheikh. Its numerous bars, restaurants, and pools are set in extensive tropical gardens that lead to a wide (although coarse-sand) beach. Guest rooms are spacious and outfitted with air-conditioning, minibars, flat-screen TVs, and furnished outdoor spaces. There are a dizzying array of facilities and activities, and the hotel's all-inclusive plan is one of the better. Despite occasional overcrowding, its a solid choice for families with kids while also providing plenty of opportunities for more adult-oriented fun, though there are several similar resorts in the area, and travelers could compare rates with the four-pearl Coral Sea Aqua Club Resort and other neighboring properties.

Baron Resort Sharm El Sheikh
Ras Nasrani Bay

The Baron Resort is an upscale 360-room complex overlooking the Red Sea on the southern end of the Sinai Peninsula. Its expansive green grounds are well-tended and include a large central swimming pool and a wide sandy beach. Rooms are spacious and modern, if a little characterless, though most of them have lovely sea views. Restaurants, bars, and leisure facilities are abundant, which is useful as there's nothing walkable, and the Sharm El Sheikh tourist center is a 20-minute drive away. Overall, the decent all-inclusive plan makes it a strong contender, though it's worth comparing rates with the neighboring Sensatori Sharm El-Sheikh by Coral Sea, which has more sophisticated rooms. Couples may also want to consider the adult-only sister resort, Baron Palms, but note that it's farther from the beach and that its rooms lack sea views.

Baron Palms Resort Sharm El Sheikh
Qesm Sharm Ash Sheikh, P.C. 46619, Ras Nasrani Bay

At just 230 rooms, the Baron Palms Resort is one of the smaller all-inclusive complexes of its kind in the area, and is a 20-minute drive to the nightlife in Naama Bay. Facilities are still abundant, however, with plenty of restaurants, bars, two large pools, a spa, and luxurious touches like padded loungers and poolside drinks service. The beautiful private beach, though a short walk away from the property, provides a peaceful experience as this is an adult-only resort. Rooms have some authentic touches and balconies, though none have sea views; if that's a priority, consider the sister Barons Resort next door, which allows families and is closer to the beach.

Dreams Beach Resort
Um El Sid Cliff

The family-friendly Dreams Beach Resort is an upper-middle-range all-inclusive hotel located in the quieter area of Sharm el Sheikh and about a 10-minute drive south of its lively tourist center. There are plenty of facilities, including five pools, five restaurants, and enough activities to keep the kids happy, but parts of the resort look tired. Though the beach is small and man-made, there's a jetty that leads to the coral reef and offers great snorkeling. Rooms are clean and spacious, if a bit dated, though rates are competitive for this caliber, which makes this property a good deal in an area swarming with competitors. Travelers seeking an all-inclusive resort with a proper beach and more for the little ones might want to consider the nearby Coral Sea Waterworld Resort.
