Hotel Orphee is a quiet mid-range hotel located 10 minutes from Dubrovnik Airport in the small town of Plat. The hotel is part of a complex that shares an outdoor pool overlooking the sea and offers direct access to a private beach. Otherwise, there's not much to love here, especially for guests with mobility issues, as there are no elevators and some rooms are a long walk away from the restaurant. Buffet breakfast (free) and dinner are served and there's a poolside bar/cafe -- but food gets poor reviews. Some rooms have lovely sea views and all have mini-fridges and flat-screen TVs, but guests complain of maintenance issues and nonexistent Wi-Fi. A large swimming pool is the main focus of the property and there's just one restaurant that serves traditional regional dishes. There's a choice of regular rooms or apartments with cooking facilities; all with large terraces and free Wi-Fi. Its location on the edge of the pretty Sardinian village of Pula means there's little in the immediate area and local beaches are a five-minute drive or 20-minute stroll away. Travelers looking for quiet and calm will certainly find it here, but for sea views and an infinity-edge pool compare rates with Hotel Costa dei Fiori.
