RQ Santiago
Av. Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins 1449 Moneda

RQ Santiago is part of the RQ Hotel group, a chain that operates six other apartment-style establishments in Santiago. It's located in the heart of the city, close to government buildings and tourist attractions. Its 53 apartment-style rooms take up the top floors of a 22-story building, and feature simple decor, modern kitchenettes, separate living rooms, and work desks. The rooftop pool offers impressive views of Santiago. Guests should be forewarned, however, that even though they may book a room here, their reservation is not guaranteed -- RQ has been known to move guests to its other RQ properties in Santiago without prior notice upon check-in.

Hotel Santiago

Hotel Santiago is one of the largest hotels in Santiago and has a resort-style atmosphere with lush grounds and an outdoor pool and waterfall. Its circular high-rise structure holds 310 rooms and spacious suites that include modern amenities, beige interiors, and black and white accents. Huge windows let in great city views, but ask for a higher floor to guarantee those picturesque snow-capped Andes. The hotel appeals to both business and leisure guests with its clay tennis courts, jogging path, spa, fitness center, and ample event space. Transport via Mercedes or mini-bus is available 24 hours a day, and private wine tours can be arranged. Two bars and three international restaurants include a high-end Japanese option, as well as Senso for Mediterranean food and an outstanding Chilean wine selection. Executive Level guests will receive more freebies, but everyone else should expect to pay high prices for Wi-Fi and breakfast.

InterContinental Santiago
Avenida Vitacura 2885 Las Condes

The Hotel InterContinental in Santiago is housed in three buildings in Las Condes, a fast-growing business hub in the Chilean capital. Because of its location, the hotel is geared toward business clientele, with 381 rooms and an indoor pool and fitness center. The main building is the Vitacura Tower, which is connected to the Club Tower by a bridge. A spacious area that houses the conference and event rooms (20 in total) divides the two towers. For rooms, the Club Tower is the newer wing, and every floor has its own name and style after a unique geographic area of the country. All rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs and CD players, but the Club Tower rooms are a step up in terms of modern amenities and decor. Wi-Fi and use of the business center come with fees, but the lounge areas are great for impromptu meetings and post-work cocktails. The hotel is near a number of great restaurants, and the city's historic center can be reached by taxi, bus, or metro.

Le Reve Hotel Boutique

The elegant Hotel Boutique Le Reve is located along a quiet, tree-lined street in the heart of Santiago’s lively Providencia community. The building is a classic French house that has been designated a Chilean national monument. Inside, the decor is sophisticated, luxurious, and warm -- reminiscent of the style of a small Paris hotel. Each of the 28 rooms has charming European-style furnishings. Amenities include LCD flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, designer toiletries, and fine bed linens; some rooms also come with terraces that overlook the property’s interior garden. Great for sightseeing, the property is close to many restaurants, pubs, and two Santiago Metro stations.

Regal Pacific Hotel

The 104-room Regal Pacific Hotel is in Las Condes, the heart of Santiago’s commercial district. The ambiance of the hotel is refined, but visitors expecting a true luxury experience may be disappointed, as the decor throughout is dated. The large rooms are sophisticated (though in need of an update), and feature spacious living areas, coffee trays or wet bars, and lovely marble bathrooms, which are arguably the most luxurious part of the room. Some rooms have magnificent views of the Andes Mountains. Freebies include Wi-Fi, breakfast, and the hotel has two restaurants: La Fattoria Restaurant, known for its Mediterranean, Italian, and local dishes; and Queen's Piano Bar, serving light fare and cocktails.

Eurotel El Bosque
Avenida El Bosque Norte 0124 Las Condes

The Eurotel El Bosque is a basic but comfortable 40-room hotel that was renovated from a former apartment building. Decor in certain areas -- such as the lobby and bathrooms -- could use some updating, but the friendly multilingual staff and cheerful vibe make this easy to overlook. Breakfast is included with the rate, and can be delivered to rooms or taken on the pretty terrace overlooking the garden. Other amenities include a business center, small meeting room, and free underground parking. All rooms come with nice closets, minibars, and modern stereos, while suites have kitchenettes equipped with microwaves and stoves. The street is safe and close to shopping centers, restaurants, and the subway for access to Santiago's tourist sites.

Hotel Loreto
Loreto 170, Barrio Bellavista

The 24-room Hotel Loreto reflects the creative, bohemian flair of the surrounding neighborhood that’s filled with graffiti murals and borders the art museum rich Bellas Artes area, plus it's about a 20-minute walk to Plaza de Armas from here. The mid-range hotel offers small guest rooms with minimal decor, but great amenities like flat-screen TVs, minibars, free Wi-Fi, and patios or balconies. Take note that they lack air-conditioning and tea/coffee-making facilities. Features are limited -- there’s not much else besides a rooftop terrace, a courtyard patio, and a free breakfast buffet, but the outdoor spaces are charming. With a location that’s within walking distance of many attractions, it’s a good choice. Travelers might also want to consider the nearby Departamentos Amoblados Bellas Artes, which has full-size apartments and access to an indoor pool and gym -- but no breakfast.

Noi Vitacura
Avenida Nueva Costanera 3736 Vitacura

The luxurious NOI Vitacura Hotel is located near the affluent Vitacura neighborhood, known for its fashionable clothing and furniture, elite schools, and one of the most exclusive shopping thoroughfares in Santiago, Calle Alonse de Cordova. The building is a stunning masterpiece of modern architecture, towering with elegance and grandeur. Inside, the 87 rooms have wide, floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in lots of natural light, and decor that's chic and cozy at the same time. The rooms come with automatic curtains, sheets imported from Portugal, phones with video conferencing, and beautiful pristine bathrooms with separate soaking tubs and showers. There are two restaurants and two bars on the property, and all are decidedly upscale; the Piegari serves classic Italian fare with the backdrop of a lovely never-ending waterfall, while the Tramonto Bar & Terrace sits on the hotel’s rooftop and offers magnificent views of the Andes Mountains.

Hotel Plaza El Bosque Nueva Las Condes
Avenida Manquehue Norte 656

Hotel Plaza El Bosque Nueva Las Condes is a modern four-pearl property with a formal, business-like vibe, complete with six fully equipped meeting rooms. Its 276 guest rooms can feel a bit chain-like, but they’re bright and sleek, and equipped with flat-screen TVs and minibars. Appealing on-site features include a restaurant, spa, fitness center, and two indoor pools, plus a daily breakfast is included in rates. Overall, it's a good pick, but it's a bit far from the city center for those looking to explore Santiago's most popular attractions. For something closer to tourist attractions, travelers may want to check out RQ Central or BMB Suites.

Hotel Los Espanoles

The Los Espanoles Hotel in northwest Santiago has a chain-hotel vibe, offering less-than-inspiring, dated decor with nice amenities at a budget-friendly price. Los Espanoles has just 48 rooms and offers the standard amenities, including a fitness center, business center, sauna (for a fee), and decent free breakfast. The rooms are on the snug side but offer the basics (other than a coffeemaker). Travelers who prefer more modern facilities should consider the nearby Holiday Inn Express Santiago, with nicer, more spacious rooms at just a slightly higher price point.
