Hotel & Spa S'Entrador Playa
Avenida l'Agulla 123

Hotel & Spa S'Entrador Playa is an upper-middle-range hotel in the resort town of Cala Ratjada; situated within a five-minute walk to Cala Agulla Beach, and close to several restaurants, bars, and shops. Its 212 bright and contemporary guest rooms have private balconies, flat-screen TVs, and minibars. Notable features include the large outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, fitness center, and spa with an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, Turkish Bath, and variety of beauty and massage treatments. All rates include a free buffet breakfast and the option of half board and full board packages -- dinners are buffet-style and men are required to wear long pants. Travelers can compare rates with the nearby Lago Garden Hotel, which has three outdoor pools and free Wi-Fi.

Hotel Bella Playa & Spa
Diseminado Cala Agulla 125

The Hotel Bella Playa & Spa is a three-and-a-half-pearl, family-owned property on the edge of the low-key resort of Cala Ratjada. While at the quieter end of town, the resort center is easily walkable and the lovely Cala Agulla beach is just minutes away. Its 253 guest rooms vary from partly-updated to swish and contemporary. All have balconies, mini-fridges, and free Wi-Fi -- though signal can be patchy. An adults-only spa impresses and an outdoor swimming pool also provides a tranquil spot to relax. While the spa, tennis courts, and organized hikes make it solid pick for couples and sporty types, families are better off at the nearby THB Guya Playa, with a kids' club and poolside animation.

THB Guya Playa
Calle Es Secret s/n

The THB Guya Playa is a three-and-a-half-pearl, low-rise property that overlooks the picturesque bay on the outskirts of Majorca's Cala Ratjada. It's a laid-back location with easy access to excellent snorkeling, a pretty beach, and some local dining, while still being within walking distance from the livelier resort center. The 138 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments are bright and modern, with most offering fabulous bay views, and all have kitchens that are up-to-date. Dining options are limited but quality is good, with half-board and other plans available. Highlights include an attractive pool terrace and a spa, which has a wide range of facilities and free entry, plus it's adults-only most of the day. Those looking for a totally child-free experience, however, should consider the Son Moll Sentits Hotel, which also features an outstanding spa and offers great sea views.

THB Dos Playas
Calle Mistral-C Ratja 2

The adults-only THB Dos Playas is a relatively small, mid-range chain property situated within easy strolling distance of a sandy beach and the dining and low-key nightlife of Cala Ratjada. Its 90 rooms all received a fresh modern update in 2016, and amenities include flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and safes. On-site facilities are basically limited to one outdoor pool, a buffet restaurant, and a bar; don't expect fitness or spa facilities. Buffet meals and non-premium drinks are covered with an all-inclusive plan. Despite the adults-only policy, clientele tend to be young adults, not couples looking for s romantic getaway without the kids; those travelers may prefer the nearby Son Moll Sentits Hotel, which is pricier, although it's also directly overlooking the beach.

THB Cala Lliteras
Avenida Cala Lliteres 9

The THB Cala Lliteras is a fairly run-of-the-mill, mid-range resort hotel whose main attraction is its setting -- positioned overlooking a pretty bay in the laid-back outskirts of Cala Ratjada resort. An updated pool area is another highlight, with a whirlpool section, plentiful loungers, and a poolside bar. There's also a bright dining room where breakfast is served, which is always comes included and and an all-inclusive option is available. Almost all of its 201 guest rooms open to balconies that offer some glimpse of the sea, though decor is lingering in the past, and bathrooms, while sleek, are on the small side. Still, units are comfortable and come with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, desks, and free Wi-Fi. While undemanding visitors are likely to find enough for a pleasant stay, if lack of spa or kids' club is a deal-breaker, check out the nearby THB Guya Playa.

Protur Turo Pins Hotel
C Ses Savines, Esq. Cala Lliteras

The Protur Turo Pins Hotel is a smart, upscale all-suite property located in a quiet neighborhood of the fairly remote resort of Cala Ratjada and popular with both families and couples. While lacking a little in character, the hotel is modern and well-maintained, with a good range of facilities that includes two outdoor pools and a spa. Its 136 suites continue in the same vein, some featuring high-end amenities such as private whirlpool tubs, though none have sea views. Dining is generally excellent and kids are well-catered for, plus Wi-Fi is free and available throughout most of the property. Couples looking for a bit more charm may prefer the family-run Ses Rotges, but it doesn't have a pool or spa.

Son Moll Sentits Hotel & Spa
Calle Nereidas 1

The Son Moll Sentits Hotel is an upscale, adults-only property with a prime position set overlooking the pretty beach of Cala Moll in the laid-back resort of Cala Ratjada. Like the hotel as a whole, its 127 guest rooms are bright and contemporary in style, many featuring balconies with outstanding sea views. Spa facilities, a top-floor bar-restaurant, and saltwater infinity pool also make the most of the setting offering superb vistas -- though the pool is undeniably on the small side. Breakfast is always included and a real highlight, while food quality is generally impressive across both buffet and a la carte dining. Ultimately, it's one of the pricier options but you certainly get what you pay for. The nearby Hotel Serrano Palace is a slightly cheaper, four-pearl option with an excellent spa, though generally a little dated and not child-free.

Lago Garden Hotel
Calle Buen Paseo C R s/n

The upscale Lago Garden Hotel offers a wide range of amenities that suit couples and families alike. Extensive spa facilities include Turkish baths, saunas, and aromatic showers. Guests can indulge in a wide menu of treatments. There are three lovely outdoor pools tucked among the garden grounds. Children are catered to with a kids' pool, kids' club, and playground. On-site dining gets mainly good reviews, and an extensive breakfast is included in all rates. The 112 chic guest rooms are tastefully adorned and all have private balconies or terraces -- some feature outdoor whirlpool tubs. The property is in the town center, so there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, and the beach is a seven-minute walk away. Travelers looking for a beachfront hotel might want to check out Hotel Serrano Palace.

Hotel Illot Suites & Spa
Calle Hernan Cortes 41

The Illot Suites & Spa is a rather mediocre, three-pearl hotel located in the laid-back resort of Cala Ratjada. The surroundings are a little rough around the edges, though it's a short stroll to the town center and a lovely beach is within walking distance. Much of the interiors  looks like they've seen better days, including the 102 apartment-style guest rooms, but all come with cooking facilities and -- sleeping up to four -- are popular with families. Spa facilities impress, though entry is not always free of charge, and most agree the buffet dining is surprisingly good. Ultimately, it comes up short, with no real sea views and many instances of poor maintenance; this can't be said of the more polished THB Guya Playa nearby, which also has an impressive spa.

Hotel Serrano Palace
Calle Moll S/N

The Hotel Serrano Palace is an upscale, resort-style property set on the edge of Cala Ratjada resort overlooking its sandy Cala Moll Beach. It's also set just a couple minutes' walk from the seafront promenade that connects to the lively resort center. The 152 guest rooms are certainly some of the largest in the area, though decor will suit more conservative tastes. Suites have the added luxury of whirlpool tubs and many feature sea views. A large outdoor pool and spa with heated pool and extensive facilities make for lots of relaxation space, though kids aren't particularly well catered for. A rooftop nudist terrace also points to this being a more adult-oriented hotel. Families looking for an upscale experience will prefer the more child-friendly Lago Garden Hotel.
