Filion Suites Resort & Spa is suited to travelers who want an escape, and don't mind doing a little extra leg work to get there. The upscale resort is located at the end of a quiet mountain road, and while surrounded by a few homes and other accommodations, there is virtually nothing else nearby. There are dining options on location, including a poolside cafe and daily buffet breakfast. The 94 rooms include a significant number of Family Suites, all with minimalist modern decor, and balconies -- some with mountain views. While the resort does make an effort to be family-friendly -- it has a playground and two kids' pools -- its remote location makes it better suited to couples looking for a relaxing getaway.
