25hours Hotel Zurich West

The 25hours Hotel Zurich West is a trendy hotel with exuberant interior designs created by Alfredo Haberli. A fountain sits at the entrance of the six-floor hotel, which looks like a nondescript office building from the outside, but offers interiors doused in color and funky decor. Slinky red lights hang from the ceiling in the lobby, while an adjoining lounge area is filled with colorful mod chairs and sofas complemented by a round rug in rainbow hues. The space is full of natural light courtesy of a wall of windows. Stylish hallways feature large windows that overlook an interior courtyard with a ping-pong table on a hot pink rug. Colorful cartoon murals brighten up the lobby elevator bank, where Swatch watches are encased on the wall. Such quirky details are peppered throughout the hotel and create a youthful vibe. 

The hotel is located in District Five on a busy multi-lane street that’s surrounded by offices and apartment buildings. A bar, cafe, and market are across the street, as well as the Toni-Areal tram station, which gives access to the Old Town in about 20 minutes and such sights as Saint Peter’s Church, the Swiss National Museum, Grossmunster, Town Hall, and high-end shopping on the Bahnhofstrasse. Alternatively, guests can use the free bicycles that are offered by the hotel and take the riverside trail that goes to Old Town in about 15 minutes. A walk along the Limmat River leads to Lake Zurich, with boat cruises departing from the main pier. Uetliberg mountain is an hour by tram, offering city views and hikes. Zurich Airport takes 25 minutes by public transportation or 15 minutes by car.

Stylish rooms and suites are loaded with bright colors, cartoon drawings on walls, and hip furniture that brings a youthful exuberance to the interiors. Freitag messenger bags hang on the walls and are provided as loaners for guests to use, a fun and attentive touch. There are several different categories of rooms that range in size from the smallest Silver Rooms, which have carpeting and views of the hotel’s atrium or the plaza, to larger Gold Rooms with wooden floors and city or park views, as well as top floor Platinum Rooms with parquet floors, Nespresso coffeemakers, tea kettles, and garden balconies. Bunk Bed Rooms are also available, as well as Haeberli Suites, which have wooden floors, freestanding bathtubs (as well as showers), Nespresso coffeemakers, tea kettles, and city views from garden balconies. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, writing desks, minibars, iPod docks, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms feature stylish mosaic tiles and are outfitted with walk-in rainfall showers, hairdryers, and most feature windows onto the bedrooms.

The hotel is geared towards business travelers, offering three meeting spaces and a business center with a colorful lounge, two Apple desktop computers, and a printer. The Kitchenclub and the Freiraum are in an open space that features mod furniture and a professional kitchen equipped in Bulthaup and Miele fixtures. A flexible room divider allows the two spaces to be combined or separated, fitting between 20 to 135 people. There’s also the Guild Room that holds up to 20 people, with a circular modern conference table. The Kiosk shop in the lobby sells quirky gifts. Through partnerships, the hotel offers Stilrad bikes and MINI cars that can be rented for free to explore Zurich. 

The hotel's Neni restaurant offers Asian/Mediterranean cuisine in a stylish dining room, with a bar, lounge, and a summer terrace. The hotel also has a sauna located on the top floor, with a pink-tinted window offering city views. A fitness corner provides an elliptical machine, a bicycle, and a rowing machine. Changing rooms, with lockers and showers, are available. There are also three wooden foot soaking tubs, lounge chairs on a patio, and a curtained off sitting area that has a wet bar and city views.
