There isn't much to do besides lounge by the pool at this family-run establishment, but that's precisely why guests come here. Removed from the beach and main drag (but within walking distance of them), countryside settings are calm here, as is an outdoor pool with a much-loved pool bar. The tidy look manifests throughout -- from trimmed hedges framing stone paths, to well-maintained blue, white, and canary-yellow exteriors. Interiors are dated and in need of an update, including the frumpy green seating, casual coffee tables, and red patterned chair cushions. There isn't much for kids aside from the pool's splash corner, nor is there any evening entertainment, but for a clean, quiet stay at bargain prices, this is a good pick.

Tsilivi's seaside resort town is more family-friendly than notorious party zones dominating other parts of the island, and though a little out of the way for the action, the hotel is well-enough placed for reaching what's on offer. Tsilivi Beach's long sandy stretch and shallow waters are a 15- to 20-minute walk away, with the main drag's affordable bars and restaurants along the way. Countryside settings here are pretty (although room views vary). A supermarket and bus running to capital, Zakynthos (more commonly known as Zante) are within a five-minute walk. Taxis are also popular, especially for the harbor's Venetian watchtower and Tsilivi Water Park. Both are a five-minute drive. Allow 15 minutes by car to reach Zakynthos International Airport.

Decent-sized rooms are clean and bright, but they're basic. Coming in two-person Standard Rooms, or Family setups sleeping up to five, they have a simple look with clean-tiled floors, dated wood furniture, and plain-white or colored bedspreads. Drapes in blue, yellow, or purple add color, as do wall art, flower fixtures, or inspirational wall quotes. Tiny, tube-style TVs are old, as are small bathrooms, where inefficient shower curtains result in flooded floors. Still, a furnished balcony or terrace is guaranteed, although views vary. Pool or meadow vistas are pleasant, but some units directly overlook walls or parking lots, and roadside rooms are noisy. Additionally, guests find beds firm, but that's common in Europe.

Phones, desks, fridges, AC, and safes are provided, but the latter three incur fees unless in a Superior Room. Some units have kettles, but no tea or coffee are provided. Hand soap, daily housekeeping, hairdryers, and free Wi-Fi (for rooms that get a signal) complete amenities.

It's a simple affair here, with the pool and its bar being the highlights. The oblong-shaped outdoor pool isn't huge, but it's sufficient and has a hot tub and shallow area for kids. Loungers and white umbrellas line the deck. Served free of charge in an indoor breakfast room by the lobby, simple Greek and continental spreads include feta pastries, cold meats and cheeses, breads, cakes, cereals, and fruit. Tea, coffee, and juice are also provided. Hot "Full English" breakfasts can be purchased at the pool bar. The bar's cabana-like structure has terra-cotta roof tiles and wood-paneled ceilings that give this semi-outdoor space a cozy feel. The venue serves beer, cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, and meals such as salads, omelets, and burgers. Its casual terrace seating overlooks the pool. Wi-Fi and parking are both free.
