The restaurant serves buffet-style Greek and continental dishes; there are also an indoor bar and a poolside snack bar serving drinks. Scene
Casually elegant and welcoming, with beautiful gardens throughout
Palm trees and sunflowers welcome guests at the entrance, where a stone walkway lined with flowering plants leads to the taupe-colored stone hotel building. Stone walkways, lush trees, and colorful flowers continue throughout the grounds. Modern and airy, the lobby is an inviting space decorated in neutral beiges with touches of red, brown, and striped or polka-dot pillows. A colorful stained glass skylight provides plenty of natural light, and the large reception desk is located in the middle of the room, near the indoor bar and entrance to the main restaurant. Plush couches and plants are grouped into small seating areas, and in addition to tourist and travel information, there is also a small desk for Thomas Cook guests. Several massage chairs sit along one wall, along with a group of public computers.
Location
A quiet spot right in the heart of Laganas
In spite of being a 10-minute walk (250 meters) from the main strip in Laganas -- with its many restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, and entertainment options -- the Margarita Hotel is quiet and serene, surrounded by lush gardens and colorful plants. The hotel is also a 15-minute walk (450 meters) from the beach, giving guests access to both the water and the busy nearby nightlife. Guests that want to explore more of the island or prefer not to walk will find both taxi cab stands and bus stops within 200 meters, and the property is a 10-minute drive from the Main Port as well as the Zakynthos International Airport.
Rooms
Bright and clean, with balconies and mini-fridges
The rooms at this property are modern and bright, and categories include Twins, Triples, and Suites. Walls are an elegant gray or cream, and some rooms have one stone wall. Bedding comes in cheerful shades of peach or green, furniture is warm wood, and simple bathrooms are white with stall showers. Some rooms feel more modern, but all are kept clean and offer balconies with views of the garden or pool area, flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, kettle, air-conditioning (for an additional fee), and in-room safe. The Twins and Triples are fairly spacious, but the Suites offer a good amount of space and are well-appointed for families and groups, with two separate bedrooms. While most of the rooms are very quiet, accommodations right by the pool can be a bit noisy, so guests seeking tranquility should request rooms on higher levels and away from the pool area. There is also an additional fee for Wi-Fi use.
Features
Beautiful property with three pools and outdoor activities
As a smaller property, the Margarita Hotel doesn’t include quite as many features a some of the other hotels located near the strip. However, the location is ideal for guests wanting to explore, as well as those that prefer to stay on the property -- the landscaping and gardens make for a beautiful, quiet experience. An all-inclusive hotel, the on-site restaurant offers buffet meals with both Greek and continental dishes, and there are bars located in the lobby as well as by the large pool area. Guests can use the Quiet Pool or the main pool, and there is also a separate pool for children. An entertainment staff offers nightly games and activities, and there are also several billiards tables, a tennis court, a small playground for children, and volleyball. The owner of the property puts a high priority on the property being peaceful for guests, so guests are asked to be quiet after 11:30 pm.
