Bottom Line

Most travelers heading to Zante's party resort of Laganas are looking for a simple hotel with a lively scene, and the budget Atlantis Hotel does not disappoint in this respect. Even out of season, its large rooms, facilities, and location away from the main strip will appeal to families and couples looking for value away from steeper beachfront prices. The 61 rooms are simply furnished and include kitchenettes and balconies. The main pool area has a nice view and the poolside cafe serves a decent snack menu throughout the day, with the bar open until late. Features such as a gym, spa treatments, and internet center are welcome and the sports bar screens most major events. Nearby Savvas Hotel has slightly lower rates, but lacks a gym and spa.

Scene

Budget hotel with a lively vibe, especially during the summer months

Atlantis Hotel is one of the bigger hotels in the area, and is in a smart, attractive building with wrought-iron balconies and Grecian-style staircases at its entrance. Lifts provide access to all four floors. Although located on a quiet street away from the main nightlife, the hotel has a lively atmosphere, especially in high season with music playing throughout the day and the sports bar open until late. The building is arranged around a central outdoor pool, edged with palms and leafy views across the resort to distant hillsides. Shared spaces like the poolside cafe and bar are modern and airy, with plenty of space to relax, both in and out of the sun. Guests tend to be young groups of friends looking for a quiet base away from the main strip. However, out of season it's popular with families and couples.

Location

Quieter location off the main road in the busy Laganas resort

The Atlantis Hotel is located in Laganas, the island's busiest resort, and is popular with a young crowd. The hotel itself is on a quiet road that's a few minutes walk from the main streets lined with restaurants, bars, and mini-marts. The beach is a 10-minute walk away, and there are boat trips from the shore to Turtle Island. Exploring the rest of the island is easy, it takes around an hour tip to tip. Popular points of interest include the charming fishing harbor Zante town, which is a 15-minute drive. The small village of Bochali sits on the hill above, 20 minutes away, which has superb views over the island. It's about an hour to Porto Vromi for boat trips to famous Shipwreck Bay where visitors can swim in the caves and secluded coves. The international airport is a 10-minute drive away.

Some of the larger apartments have a separate living area. Air-conditioning and safes are available at an extra charge.
