Scene

Chain hotel in woodsy setting with mix of couples, families, and business travelers as guests

The hotel is a simple, modern, four-story building with pitched roofs, painted pale gray and white. Surrounded by pretty landscaping, including a small pond, tropical plants, leafy trees, and colorful flowers, the property has a woodsy, natural feeling. The property also connects to the Summer Rest Trail, part of Wilmington's park system.
Inside, the lobby has chic, yet homey furnishings in beige and black with rust-colored accents. The tall windows have sheer polkadot-patterned
curtains, while tree trunk side tables and potted plants lend a subtle, earthy vibe. A beige couch and chairs positioned
in front of a large, modern fireplace offer a spot for guests -- a mix of
couples, families, and business travelers -- to sit and read or relax. Breakfast is served in a similarly neutral-colored adjoining space with flat-screen TVs, wood and vinyl tables and chairs, and bar-style seating against a tall window. There’s also a small bar, and the self-serve coffee station is a nice touch. Trees provide a nice background for
the outdoor pool area, and white lounge chairs are lined up on a wooden deck
under white pergolas.

Location

Next to city park trail and five-minute drive to beach

Hampton Inn & Suites Wilmington-Wrightsville
Beach is located next to the Summer Rest Trail, a mile-long stretch that winds up at a waterway and residential area with docks, boats, and a beautiful view. The hotel is down
the street from a steak and seafood restaurant, and there are several restaurants and bars within
a few minutes' drive. Mayfaire Town Center shopping mall and University of North Carolina-Wilmington are within a 10-minute drive, and it’s around a five-minute drive to the Wrightsville Beach. Wilmington International Airport is around a 20-minute drive.

Rooms

Clean, chain-like rooms with coffeemakers

Rooms at the hotel are clean and have the generic, slightly dated decor one expects from a budget chain hotel, including green
carpeting, red accent walls, and red-and-gray-striped curtains. Neutral armchairs, white bedding, and antique-style lamps complete the rooms. Cherry wood furnishings include
headboards, desks, nightstands, and bureaus. Some rooms have mini-fridges and
microwaves, and all rooms have coffee/tea facilities, 32-inch flat-screen TVs, and
free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are cozy and clean with tile floors and wallpaper in creamy tones, and wooden shelving for white towels. Bathrooms have stall showers and Neutrogena toiletries. Suites with
kitchenettes, fireplaces, and/or whirlpool tubs are available.

Features

Pretty outdoor pool area, free breakfast, and lobby bar

The
hotel has a pretty outdoor pool area with a lounging deck and is open seasonally, along with a poolside bar area. A free breakfast is
provided, and on-the-go breakfast bags are available Monday through Friday. There’s
a small fitness center with two treadmills and a stationary bicycle, and
a city parks trail starts near the hotel. There’s an Internet corner
with one computer and a printer, and there’s also a bar in the lobby. Parking
and Wi-Fi are free and rooms are available for private events accommodating up to 100
guests.
