Playing off its proximity to Colonial Williamsburg, Williamsburg Lodge features typical colonial-style decor in its interiors. Expect to see oil paintings, antique furniture, wooden walls, and quirky antique decor pieces. While the building isn't historic, the interiors transport you back into the old American colonial-period. The red face-brick building is surrounded by beautiful gardens of lush lawns, fountains, walkways, and a collection of small bushes and large green trees. Inside, the lobby is a large, open space with antique leather sofas, large patterned carpets, wooden furniture, and antique decor. The on-site Traditions restaurant features a wide range of artifacts on display and an eclectic collection of furniture. Sweet Tea & Barley, on the other hand, is more of an upmarket restaurant, with a sophisticated look and feel. This hotel offers a lovely experience in Colonial Williamsburg, attracting a mixture of both leisure and business travelers.

Located in the heart of the historical Colonial Williamsburg, the hotel offers easy access to many of the area's attractions. The hotel offers a free shuttle around the perimeter of the Revolutionary City. The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg is right across the street from the hotel and the Williamsburg Historic District is just five minutes by foot. There are a few restaurants and shops located within the Historic District. The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club Gold Course is a two-minute walk and Williamsburg Inn Tennis Club is a nine-minute walk. The College of William & Mary is a 20-minute walk or four-minute drive from the hotel. It's a 12-minute drive to both Busch Gardens and Water Country. Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport is 25 minutes by car.

Each of the 323 guest rooms at Williamsburg Lodge were designed with inspiration from the Williamsburg's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum. Decor includes traditional colonial-period elements: oil paintings, hand-painted lamps, traditional American bedspreads, antique furniture, a rocking chair, and an old-fashioned leather chair in the corner of the room. The rooms are cozy and welcoming, combining traditional decor with a decent selection of modern comforts. All rooms include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, tea- and coffee-making facilities, telephones, desks, safes, iron and ironing boards, and free Wi-Fi -- some rooms include a mini-fridge. Family travelers can make use of the connected rooms as well as the larger Studios or Suites; some rooms include sofa-beds. Bathrooms feature a black-and-white color-scheme and come with shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg toiletries.

Guests at Williamsburg Lodge have access to an extensive list of features, though not all are located on the property. There are two on-site restaurants: Traditions serves Southern-style fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and Sweet Tea & Barley features burgers and sandwiches for lunch and dinner. There is also an express buffet breakfast in the lobby each morning, though it's not included in rates. There are three swimming pools: an outdoor family pool, an outdoor tranquility pool, and an indoor pool. 

Guests have access to The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg, across the street, which includes a large fitness center with a selection of modern cardio and weight-training equipment, along with daily exercise classes and spa treatments. Guests also have access to the Williamsburg Inn Tennis Club and the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club. The hotel staff can assist with purchasing tickets for various nearby attractions. A total of 10 conference and meeting facilities are available, as well as a business center. On-site parking and Wi-Fi throughout the property are free. A few additional features and services include a valet service (for a fee), shoe shining service, free shuttle around the perimeter of the Revolutionary City, bicycle rentals, a gift shop, and pet-friendly facilities.
