Scene
A clean, functional, budget-friendly hotel in the backpackers' district
Occupying a tall, thin white building on a bustling street in the backpackers’ area, the Beautiful Saigon Hotel shares the road with a plethora of budget-friendly hotels, restaurants, and shops. Geared toward budget-minded travelers, the hotel is functional and clean, with basic but pleasant decor. The reception area is small and generic but welcoming with tiled floors, white walls, a few chairs, and a marble reception desk, which is staffed 24-hours. The surrounding area is filled with hotels, hostels, and restaurants, and it has a laid-back, youthful, and slightly touristy vibe. Guests can easily walk to a plethora of restaurants and shops, and the popular Ben Thanh Market is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Rooms
Clean and comfortable rooms with tasteful decor and nice amenities
Guest rooms are comfortable and clean with tasteful, if generic, decor. Superior Rooms have cream-colored walls, matching floor tiles, and white bedding set against dark-wood furniture and light yellow accents. Gray crown molding and large floral paintings add a touch of elegance. Standard Rooms are similarly decorated, but they're smaller and lack artwork and windows, though these windowless rooms can be a boon for light sleepers, as they don't get street noise. Rooms higher up can be somewhat quieter, too. Guests are surprised by the in-room amenities, including a writing desk with a (dated) desktop computer, a flat-screen TV, a safe, individually controlled air-conditioning, coffee and tea facilities, and a mini-fridge filled with a few sodas and beer. In-room Wi-Fi is free, though it can be spotty, particularly on higher floors.
Superior Rooms have generously sized bathrooms with black and white fixtures and a shower/tub combo. Standard Rooms have wet-room-style showers wedged between the sink and toilet. All rooms are supplied with a variety of free toiletries, a hairdryer, and slippers.
