Hotel Imlauer Wien

You'll notice Imlauer Vienna from the street with its baby blue exteriors that stand out from the otherwise brown and beige buildings. The hotel's common areas are shared with Hotel Nestroy, with only the rooms located in a separate section. The shared lobby is bright with Vienna-themed decor: a large black and white city-scene mural is presented on the wall and there's a metal cutout of the city's skyline circling around a central wall. There are also a few scattered bamboo plants and large flower arrangements at the entrance and on the reception desk. The breakfast area, restaurant, and bar are placed around a central glass-covered courtyard, which creates an open space with natural light. More plants and flower arrangements are scattered throughout the dining areas, as well as brightly-colored artwork and a bright orange wall in the buffet area. The overall atmosphere is welcoming, and attracts a mix of both leisure and business travelers.

Located in the quiet neighborhood of Leopoldstadt, Imlauer Vienna is within walking distance to a few local attractions and public transportation. There are a handful of restaurants, bars, and shops within the nearby vicinity and the beautiful Augarten park is four minutes on foot. Vienna's amusement park, Prater (with a giant Ferris Wheel), is a 15-minute walk from the hotel. It's a 20-minute walk or eight-minute drive into the city center, where St. Stephen's Cathedral is also located. Most tourist attractions can be accessed via public transport or cab: Belvedere Palace, Hofburg Palace, and Museums Quarter are all within a 15-minute drive. Schonbrunn Palace is a 30-minute drive. The hotel is located between two subway stations: Taborstrabe (three-minute walk) and Nestroyplatz (seven-minute walk). Both the Taborstrabe and Karmeliterplatz Tram Stops are three minutes on foot and Wien Praterstern Railway Station is a 12-minute walk from the hotel. It's a 20-minute drive to Vienna International Airport.

Compared to neighboring Hotel Nestroy, the 60 rooms at Imlauer Vienna are much more modern. The rooms are kept simple with either dark carpets or wooden floors, dark wood furniture and door frames, striped curtains, beige chairs, and white linens with brown floral bed runners and cushions. All units include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, desks, safes, tea- and- coffee-making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have access to a shared terrace overlooking the street, while other rooms feature either a street or backyard view from windows. Bathrooms include a shower/tub combo, a hairdryer, magnifying mirror, and Naturals toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers are provided in the suites.

Imlauer Vienna shares common areas with neighbor Hotel Nestroy, which has a list of basic hotel features. This includes an extensive buffet breakfast with hot and cold options, though it's not included in all room rates and guests have complained about high prices. There's also a restaurant available for other meals and a lounge bar located in the central glass-roofed conservatory. The basement includes a small fitness center with a limited selection of Precor cardio and weight training equipment as well as a spa with sauna. Three meeting rooms are available. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Note that there are no on-site parking facilities.
