Hotel Nestroy's baby blue exterior is instantly noticeable from the quiet residential street. Interiors are a bit more simple, with just enough panache to make the spaces interesting. The first hints of quirkiness are noticeable in the lobby: a large city scene mural, a pillar with a wrap-around image of Vienna's skyline, a bright orange accent wall behind the reception desk, and a few scattered bamboo plants. Other common areas, including the breakfast room and restaurant, are a bit more plain and generic. The glass-covered inner courtyard features the hotel's bar, and the terrace is open during the summer months. Guests can find the modern, though slightly small, spa and fitness center in the basement. Hotel Nestroy attracts mostly couples and business travelers, since there are no benefits for family travelers.

Tucked away on a residential street slightly removed from the touristy areas, this hotel is still close to many of the area's most famous attractions, and is well connected to the city's public transport. The Prater, the popular amusement park with an iconic Ferris wheel, is just over a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Vienna's main central street, Stephansplatz, is about a 17-minute walk away. For those wishing to venture farther away, there are two subway stations within walking distance: Taborstrabe is three minutes on foot and Nestroyplatz is six minutes on foot. Both the Taborstrabe and Karmeliterplatz Tram Stops are located within a three-minute walk. Wien Praterstern Railway Station is an 11-minute walk from the hotel. Vienna's International Airport is a 25-minute drive or 40 minutes on public transport.

The 48 guest rooms at Hotel Nestroy are decorated with a retro-style that verges on just plain old-fashioned with a collection of mismatched furniture. All rooms include a similar color palette, including blue, red, orange, brown, and white with a mix of artwork on the walls. While the rooms are comfortable and fun, they could do with a facelift to freshen up the look a bit. All units include air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV, desk, telephone, safe, minibar, tea- and- coffee-making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have access to a shared terrace. Bathrooms include a shower/tub combo or a walk-in shower, along with magnifying mirrors, hairdryers, a towel warmer, and Naturals toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers are provided in the suites.
