Hilton Vienna

The Hilton Vienna is a four-pearl chain property with an impressive lobby set under a massive, rectangular atrium. The high ceilings let in lots of light in the space where dozens of black leather armchairs are grouped around tables in the lobby's lounge bar. The lobby itself has shiny floors with marble accents and houses both a newsstand and a gift shop. Spaces are clean and bright, but a bit generic, giving off the feel of a big convention center hotel; tour buses pulling up in front of this property is not an uncommon sight. This hotel has good features for business travelers -- including a comprehensive business center and a small gym with a good array of equipment -- plus facilities that draw leisure travelers including a sauna, steam room, and a stylish outdoor cafe with greenery and umbrellas. Overall, this is a clean and contemporary property with good airport access, but it's a bit far from the main tourist attractions of Vienna. 

The Hilton Vienna is a two-minute walk away from Amstadt Park. There's a supermarket, metro, and several restaurants under five-minute walk away. Popular tourist attractions can also be reached on foot, though a car or metro is often preferred. The elegant State Opera House is a seven-minute drive or 18-minute walk or metro ride from the hotel. St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Albertina museum, and the Kunsthistorisches Museum are all an eight-minute drive from the hotel. The Hofburg Palace is a 20-minute walk or metro ride, or a 10-minute drive. The Museums Quartier Wien is a 10-minute drive or 28-minute metro ride. The Schonbrunn Palace is an 18-minute drive, and the adorable zoo near it is a 22-minute drive from the hotel. The train station, three-minutes by foot across the street from the hotel, offers a convenient and quick 16-minute ride to Vienna International Airport. A drive to the airport takes 15 minutes without traffic.

Rooms at the Hilton Vienna are generic but contemporary, with neutral and peach hues, striped curtains, blond wood furniture, and unremarkable prints on the walls. The rooms are bright and some have views of the park and St. Stephen's Cathedral. Big flat-screen TV sits on bureau tops, and videos for children can be ordered from the front desk. Long, glass-topped work desk have well-placed electrical outlets and comfortable ergonomic chairs in cream leather. All rooms have stocked minibars, electric kettles, safes, irons, and Wi-Fi (for a fee). Bathrooms have white-tile walls, blue-tile floors, shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and cheeky rubber duckys; toiletries are Peter Thomas Roth. 

The hotel has a business center with features including offices, audio-visual devices, cell phones, and pagers that are available to rent. There are secretarial services for hire and even a notary public on-site. A big conference room with space for 840 people has natural light. This hotel also has many comfy common spaces, from the lobby lounge beneath a lovely atrium to the on-site restaurant, outdoor cafe with greenery and umbrellas, and cozy bar. A sizable fitness center is outfitted with cardio and weight machines as well as balance balls, a sauna, and a steam bath.Service dogs are welcome for free but there is a fee for pets. Laundry, babysitting, and parking, are all available for a fee. There's a gift shop in the lobby and safety deposit boxes at reception. The newspapers in the lobby are available for purchase from a lobby stand. There's a car rental desk as well. Wi-Fi is available for free in the lobby, but incurs a fee for use in the rooms. Room service is available 24 hours a day, and laundry can be done for a fee.
