The 42-room budget Comfort Inn Ventura Beach
is a small, easy to find, motel located just off the 101 Freeway, a good base
for exploring the many area beaches and tourist attractions. Renovated in 2014, the hotel looks much like most other Comfort Inn outposts across the U.S., but with palm trees and
free breakfast vouchers to be used at the neighboring Denny's. Rooms are clean
and comfortable, with small bathrooms; some suites have whirlpools. Free Wi-Fi is available.
Scene
Basic and comfortable for a good night's sleep, but not much more
The Comfort Inn Ventura Beach is a roadside motel, not a
destination hotel, offering basic amenities in a clean, comfortable
environment that could be anywhere in the United States, except for the palm
trees and tropical plants outside. There is no swimming pool, fitness center, bar, or other
common gathering place, except for the lobby, which is furnished with a sofa
and a few chairs but is more a place to book tours and do business rather than socialize. The hotel
is near a vast assortment of tourist attractions, including beaches, theme
parks, golf courses, and Hollywood. This is a good pick for budget-minded tourists
and business travelers who don’t plan to spend a lot of time in their rooms but who want a basic, comfy place to recharge at the end of the day.
Location
Conveniently located, off the 101, within walking distance of San Buenaventura State Beach and Ventura Pier
The Comfort Inn Ventura Beach is easy to find -- it's right off the 101
freeway. There's an In-and-Out Burger right next door, and other fast-food
restaurants, convenience stores, and gas stations nearby. San Buenaventura
State Beach is within walking distance of the hotel; guests can swim, snorkel,
and surf here, explore bike trails, or enjoy the famed Ventura pier with
fishing, restaurants, and shops (including bait shops). The historic San
Buenaventura Mission, Ventura County Museum, and art galleries are within a
short drive. Six Flags, Magic Mountain, and Universal Studios theme parks are
an hour away by car.
Rooms
Spacious bedrooms and small bathrooms
Rooms at the Comfort Inn Ventura Beach are (mostly) clean and up-to-date,
with enough space and storage for a short stay, but no room to hang out and
spend family time. Decor is basic Comfort Inn, in olives, browns and golds,
with dark wall-to-wall carpeting. Bathrooms are tight, but showers have massage
features and free toiletries are provided. Rooms include large, comfy beds and
pillow menus, microwaves, mini-fridges, flat-screens, and coffeemakers. Some
suites have fireplaces and whirlpools in the living area. Double-paned windows
keep noise at bay, but light sleepers should request rooms facing away from the
freeway. Past guests have reported minor issues with maintenance and cleanliness.
Features
Free Denny's breakfast, laundry facilities, business center, and meeting room
The Comfort Inn Ventura Beach offers guests a free hot breakfast
voucher for use at the neighboring Denny’s, where visitors can indulge in hot coffee and a Grand Slam. There's a lobby concierge who will help book excursions.
Laundry facilities and a small business center, as well as a meeting room, are
available for guests' use, and there is free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Parking is also free.
