Traditional, family-run hotel with a cozy breakfast room and a central Venice location
The Hotel Al Piave appeals to travelers seeking a budget-friendly getaway in the heart of Venice. The intimate bed-and-breakfast is run by a family: Mirella, Paolo, Federico, and Ilaria. A small, unassuming entrance off of a narrow Venice stone-paved street leads into the hotel’s cozy reception area with wood accents. The comfy breakfast room, with red booths and classic wooden furniture, can be found through a round wooden doorway. Murano glass is on display in cases and Venetian paintings are mounted on the walls. There’s also a small buffet table where a free breakfast is served daily.
Location
A convenient Venice location close to Saint Mark’s Square
The Hotel Al Piave is located right in the busiest part of Venice, in a crowded neighborhood full of shops and restaurants, and is right by La Tazza D'Oro, a cafe and snack bar. The hotel is located on a small side street that can be difficult to find in an already notoriously confusing city. Saint Mark's Basilica, which looks out over the famous Piazzo San Marco, or Saint Mark’s Square, is a five-minute walk away from the hotel and the Rialto Bridge and the Mercato take about 10 minutes on foot. The San Zaccaria vaparetto (water bus) stop is five minutes away on foot and over several bridges, making the hotel awkward to reach for guests with a lot of luggage.
Rooms
Small, classically decorated rooms with flat-screen TVs; some with kitchenettes
The Hotel Al Piave offers Classic and Superior Rooms as well as Family Suites, Studios, and Apartments. Interior decor is classic, with gold-colored light fixtures, hand-painted designs on doorways, and wood furniture. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, safes, and flat-screen TVs. Windows overlook the courtyard and some look right into neighboring buildings, compromising privacy. Bathrooms offer walk-in showers, bidets, and heated towel racks. Studios and Family Suites offer sitting areas/rooms and kitchenettes. The three apartments are in a separate building down the street and have living rooms, sofa beds, kitchens with dishwashers, washing machines, and DVD players.
