Pros
- Prime location within walking distance of Vancouver's downtown attractions
- Rooms have balconies or patios, full kitchens, and laundry facilities
- Free underground parking
- Free Wi-Fi throughout
- Pets are welcome

- Monthly rentals available
Cons
- No on-site features or breakfast
- Rooms are a little bland
- Some suites could use a refresh
Bottom Line
Robson Suites offers value suites in an excellent location, with some nice freebies. Each suite is equipped with a full kitchen and washer and dryer. The rooms are spacious and clean, but a little on the generic side -- patios and balconies are a nice touch. Freebies include underground parking (almost unheard of in downtown Vancouver) and Wi-Fi. The location is super convenient for walking to shops, restaurants, and the beach. If you're looking for the full hotel experience with a restaurant, pool, and fitness center you won't find it here, but the Robson is an excellent value for what it does offer. Compare rates at the nearby Blue Horizon for an indoor pool and contemporary guest rooms -- but you'll lose out on the kitchens found at the Robson.

Scene
Dated but clean
The exterior of Robson Suites looks dated but well-maintained. Inside, it's the same story. The small lobby holds a wooden reception desk and two matching upholstered chairs with wooden arms on a small rug. It's obvious the space is more functional than fun. There's a water cooler and a rack of brochures. This property doesn't have any communal meeting spaces or features. Many of the guests are budget-minded families or couples interested in longer stays and self-catering.
Location
On Robson Street
The location of Robson Suites is convenient and walkable -- it's about 15 minutes on foot to the hubs of Robson Square and Vancouver City Centre Station. This hotel is built on the busy intersection near Denman, a popular spot in downtown Vancouver complete with endless restaurants and shopping. There's a Whole Foods grocery store nearby for filling refrigerators in the suites. English Bay Beach and Stanley Park are close by as well.
Rooms
Comfortable suites with kitchens
There are 30 suites at Robson Suites. Guests can choose from a Studio, One-bedroom, or Two-bedroom Suite with king or queen beds. All of the suites have washers and dryers and full kitchens equipped with a stove/oven, full refrigerator, microwave, appliances, and cooking gear. The appliances aren't state-of-the-art but they are clean and functional. Air-conditioning is standard, though it can take awhile for the suite to cool down due to older units. Industrial carpet and beige walls are a little dull and some of the rooms could use a refresh. Couches fold out into a small bed. Some suites have huge patios while others have glassed-in balconies. Single sinks and shower/tub combinations covered with a fabric curtain make up the basic bathrooms. The suites can be rented on a monthly basis when available.
Features
Free Wi-Fi, parking, and pets allowed
The large suites and prime location are the selling points at Robson Suites, which doesn't offer much of anything in the way of features. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. Underground parking is completely free -- a huge perk in Vancouver. Pets are allowed on a pet-friendly designated floor. There's a shuttle that that takes guests to downtown attractions.
