It’s all about location at the three-and-a-half pearl Granville Island Hotel. Located next to the beautiful marina on Granville Island, one of Vancouver's top tourist hotspots, this boutique hotel has 82 rooms and gorgeous views from several points throughout the property. The hotel has its own brewery as well as a restaurant with patio seating and marina views. The hot tub is in a solarium and has views across False Creek toward Yaletown. Guests looking for a quiet experience may want to choose a room away from the lively patio area as it can get noisy in the evenings. For a similarly priced hotel in downtown Vancouver, you may want to consider Coast Coal Harbour Hotel.
Scene
Resort feel at boutique hotel with marina views
Overlooking a marina, the Granville Island Hotel is a boutique hotel with a resort feel. Decorative elements include an outdoor water fountain topped with a small fire pit. Inside, glass cases full of wine bottles line the hallways, giving the hotel an air of sophistication. The lobby is staged with contemporary armchairs set near glass tables topped with abstract sculptures. The marina views from the restaurant and patio seating area are amazing, and the brewery serves signature beers with names such as Cartwright Pale Ale and Johnston Street Pilsner.
Location
On Granville Island, a 15-minute bus ride from downtown Vancouver
As the name suggests, the hotel is on Granville Island, one of the most sought-out tourist destinations in Vancouver thanks to its marina, art galleries, restaurants, and nightlife. The Public Market, characterized by stalls selling seafood, baked goods, and fruit, is a six-minute walk away. Downtown Vancouver is less than a 15-minute bus ride, and Vancouver International Airport is less than 20 minutes away by car. Commuting to and from the island can take longer in the busy summer season due to crowds and traffic. The Granville Island Hotel is well-situated near vantage points for Vancouver's annual Celebration of Light fireworks competitions, and the hotel runs a guest shuttle to and from the show. Expect to pay a charge for parking at the hotel.
