Expansive outdoor and indoor event spaces make it a hot spot for weddings and conferences, while the full kitchens in some of the guest suites and the casual on-site dining draw families. The hotel is near English Bay Beach and Stanley Park, and the neighborhood is excellent for exploring on foot. There's a pesky fee for parking.

Business travelers might find the Coast Plaza a bit far from the financial district, but it has a fully equipped business center and conference spaces.The Coast Plaza was originally built in the '70s, which is evident from its drab tower-like exterior. The expansive lobby includes marble walls, dark dull carpeting, and clusters of navy blue furniture. Potted plants and table lamps brighten up the otherwise dim space. The backyard is prettier, and its water fountain, man-made lake, and gazebo on a grassy lawn make it an obvious choice for weddings.

The major selling point of Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites is its location. The hotel is right on Denman Street, connected to the Denman Place Mall, only a block from English Bay Beach, and not far from Stanley Park. Denman is one of the four most popular districts in Vancouver -- it has a plethora of shops and is dedicated to the foodie scene. The overall vibe is part downtown and part laid-back beach, making it a fun area for tourists to explore. There's a daily charge for parking at the beach.

Rooms are a bit dated but they all have balconies, and some of the suites have full kitchens.
There are 199 rooms and suites at Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites. Even the cheapest rooms are spacious and have mini-fridges, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and private balconies. Rooms on the highest floors overlooking the water naturally have the best views. Some Superior Rooms and Suites include a full (but slightly dated) kitchen and cooking gear. Two beds, more square footage, and a deep closet in each of these rooms make them a good choice for families or groups, but decor is mostly forgettable. Think drab carpet, striped curtains, and neutral wallpaper. Popcorn ceilings look old. Bathrooms have shower/tub combos and single sinks. Toiletries and hairdryers are provided.
