One of Hotel Zenit Valencia's biggest assets is its location across the street from the beautiful Estacio del Nord. The three-and-a-half-pearl boutique property's common spaces are attractive and on-trend, although decor in its 67 guest rooms is more contemporary, with a chain hotel aesthetic. All units have AC, minibars, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi, but they lack coffeemakers or kettles, and some rooms are a bit small. Hotel features include a solid breakfast buffet with hot items for a fee, plus a Mediterranean restaurant, a bar, and a fitness center with a sauna. Travelers looking for a quieter location, rooms that are more luxurious, and an indoor pool might consider The Westin Valencia Hotel, but rates are significantly higher.
Scene
A convenient boutique hotel with stylish common areas for business and leisure travelers
Hotel Zenit Valencia has an atmosphere that's typical of an urban boutique chain hotel, with smart design in its public spaces. Easy access to public transportation is a draw for guests, who primarily use the hotel as a base for exploring Valencia, and are generally out and about. There are, however, places to congregate, which include the light-filled lobby, and the chic, Mediterranean restaurant. The hotel attracts business travelers -- there's a meeting room, and it isn't too far from the Palacio de Congresos convention center -- in addition to couples and families who come for the well-maintained rooms, and for the buffet breakfast.
Location
Close to public transportation, restaurants, bars, and top sights
Hotel Zenit has an excellent location in central Valencia. The area is filled with shops, restaurants, and bars, and the hotel is within a short walk of many top sights. It also has easy access to public transportation, with Estacio del Nord and Xativa metro stations across the street, and the Xativa–Marques bus stop about a two-minute walk away. Plaza de Toros bullring is just north of the train station, while Llotja de la Seda Silk Exchange and Mercat Central public market are a little more than a 10-minute walk. Valencia Cathedral and Plaza de la Virgen can be reached in less than 15 minutes on foot or by metro. The City of Arts and Sciences -- one of Valencia's highlight attractions -- is about 15 minutes away by bus, and features futuristic architecture, a museum of science, a planetarium, and an IMAX theater. The Palacio de Congresos convention center is about 20 minutes from the hotel by metro. Travelers often arrive at Joaquin Sorolla train station, between five and 10 minutes away from the hotel by taxi, depending on traffic conditions. It's about a 12-minute drive or 26 minutes on the metro to Valencia Airport.
Rooms
Contemporary decor, with minibars, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi, but no kettles
Guest rooms and suites at Hotel Zenit Valencia are comfortable and have a crisp, modern aesthetic. Cool neutrals dominate the color palette, but warm browns and ample wood furniture, trim, and paneling create a handsome effect, and rooms get ample natural light. There are no coffeemakers or electric kettles, but all units contain desks, minibars, flat-screen TVs with international channels, safes, and have AC and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms boast balconies with views of the surrounding area. Bathrooms are more stylish, and come with hairdryers, bidets, makeup mirrors, and shower/tub combos, although some have limited counter space around the sink. Some of the rooms are small, although not excessively so by Valencia hotel standards, and have two singles pushed together for double beds.
Features
Mediterranean restaurant and a fitness center with a sauna, but no free breakfast
Hotel Zenit Valencia has a solid buffet breakfast buffet (for a fee), with a generous spread of hot and cold items, including Spanish tortillas, cold cuts, cheese, cakes, pastries, and fresh fruit. The restaurant also serves well-prepared Mediterranean cuisine for lunch and dinner, with standard menu items like piquillo peppers stuffed with cod. Gluten-free fare is also offered, and the restaurant has a cocktail bar, and provides room service. The small but colorful fitness center features an array of cardio and weight equipment, and has a sauna. A meeting room, 24-hour front desk, and underground parking (for a fee) are also on-site. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
