Bottom Line

Hotel Kramer is a chic three-pearl hotel with budget rates, since it's located outside of Valencia's city center. Still, it's in a walkable neighborhood and directly next to the Turia metro station. Seventy updated rooms present an almost industrial look and have flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and mini-fridges. Extras include a simple breakfast (that’s free with direct booking from the hotel), trendy tapas restaurant, and cozy reading room. The biggest downside is noise between rooms. It's worth comparing prices at the nearby NH Valencia Center, which has a rooftop pool, gym, and business facilities for not much more money.

Scene

Modern hotel with a trendy design that attracts couples and families

This modern hotel underwent a renovation in 2015 that brought an almost industrial and trendy look to the public spaces and guest rooms. The entrance includes a dramatic glass awning topped with black circles that spell out the hotel's name, in the style of typewriter keys. Inside, the reception area is quite small and includes a bold black reception desk. A single bicycle with a plant growing in the back basket adds a touch of whimsy to the space. Adjacent to the reception area is Kram Bar, which serves as the main hub and public space of the hotel. Hanging pendant lights, high wood tables, and painted food words and images provide a trendy feel. Both families and couples are drawn to the property.

Location

Located in a busy area that's outside of the city center but close to shopping, restaurants, and public transportation

Hotel Kramer is located in a busy and modern neighborhood that’s about a 25-minute walk from the city center and most of Valencia’s popular tourist attractions. In the immediate area, there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and cafes, plus a shopping mall right next door. Torres de Quart takes 17 minutes to reach on foot, while Bioparc (a zoo) is an 18-minute walk away. It’s easy to maneuver around the city via the metro, and the Turia stop is five minutes away; there's bus stop right outside the hotel. It’s a 15-minute drive to Valencia Airport.

Rooms

Modern rooms with a neutral color scheme, flat-screen TVs, and air-conditioning

The 70 rooms at Hotel Kramer are mostly spacious for European hotel standards and were renovated in 2015. Triple and Family Rooms may feel a little bit claustrophobic with so many beds in a tight space. The modern and industrial decor includes white bedding, gray accents, wooden floors, white walls, and black-and-white art pieces. All rooms feature flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, safes, and mini-fridges. They lack coffee- and tea-making facilities, however. Bathrooms are outfitted with rain showers and small vanities. Hairdryers and free toiletries are provided. Some cleanliness complaints have been made from past guests. Take note that bothersome traffic noise is an issue here, so pack ear plugs for a better night's sleep.

Features

Kram Bar, free Wi-Fi, and bike rentals

The hotel has some solid features for guests to enjoy, including free Wi-Fi and the perk of a free breakfast for those who book directly through the hotel’s website. Note that breakfast isn't a straightforward buffet or a la carte situation, but is rather served in simple packages that include the basics like pastries, fruit, cereal, and coffee. Kram Bar features tapas, finger food, Mediterranean cuisine, and cocktails for lunch and dinner; room service is also provided. A reading room is set with books and games, plus toys for kids. Parking is available for free on the street. Bike rentals and airport transfers can be arranged for a fee via the front desk.
