No-frills bungalows
Villaggio Capalbio is a series of single-story bungalows laid out underneath pine trees and in a grassy field; the overall feel is one of a holiday village or large family summer camp. The main lobby structure is a two-story, farmhouse-style stucco building with a terra cotta tile roof; behind, there is a gazebo with café tables and chairs. Location
Three kilometers from the Tyrrhenian Sea and outside the medieval town of Capalbio
Capalbio, a small medieval village about 150 kilometers south of Florence, is linked to Villaggio Capalbio via public transportation (35 minutes). The closest beach to the hotel is about three kilometers away; some guests have noted that this beach, while conveniently accessible via free shuttle bus from the property, is not always the cleanest, and that plenty of other appealing beaches are accessible via car, including Porto Santo Stefano (45 minutes) and Cala Violina (1h15 minutes).
Rooms
Basic rooms, with simple country charm
Exposed wood beams run throughout the standalone apartments here, which are set throughout a landscaped, grassy area amongst the occasional palm tree. Most of the bungalows have an outdoor terrace; the décor is modest, with slightly dated bedding, though the interior architecture is uncluttered and the walls painted light colors, which together make for an airy, pleasant feel. Larger bungalows have a kitchenette and air-conditioning; all rooms have TV.
Features
A pool, an on-site market, and an extensive play area for children
An inflatable bouncy slide, a covered play area, and a ping-pong table constitute a few of the activities for children at Villaggio Capalbio. The property features a big pool, surrounded by a good number of deck chairs (water aerobics classes are occasionally held here). There are tennis courts, a modest restaurant that specializes in pizza, and a small bar with an outdoor terrace proximate to the pool.
