Camping Baia Verde is a well-equipped camp site offering several options to travelers: pitches for one’s own tent or vehicle as well as the possibility of renting one of the free-standing caravans or mobile homes managed by the property. Guests have generally praised the cleanliness of the common facilities. The site is quite large, and is walking distance to a strip of beautiful sandy beach where chairs and umbrellas are available to rent. Besides the on-site restaurant and multiple convenience stores, there is little other commerce close by; the nearest town is the exclusive, high-end resort locale Punta Ala.
Scene
Comfortable, well-equipped camp site popular with families
Families in particular enjoy this low-key environment, which offers clean, well-equipped facilities in a calm, forested area near the sea. The grounds are spread out over several sandy acres cut through by a dirt road, and consist of encampments and mobile homes, some of the latter accompanied by small covered terraces. The property is especially suitable for children because of its proximity to the sea and large play area.
Location
Several hundred meters from the Tyrrhenian Sea in a shaded, level area
The camp site is located in a secluded, wooded area of the Maremma province of Tuscany, adjacent to the sea and shaded by pine trees. The property is about six kilometers outside the resort town of Punta Ala, a small, eclectic enclave of crumbling medieval ruins and expensive shops and restaurants. There is minimal commerce immediately surrounding the site, though the property itself contains all of the basics. A car is the best way to access this property; the town of Punta Ala is accessible via bus (about 15 minutes).
Rooms
A variety of options, including caravans and mobile homes
Visitors wishing to rent, instead of coming with their own tent or mobile home, have a choice of amenities if renting a mobile home (larger) or caravan (smaller); the former have running water and climate control in addition to electricity. Laminate surfaces abound in the small mobile homes available for rent; guests have commented favorably on the upkeep and cleanliness of the options here. Caravans are quite snug, with beds adjacent to sitting areas and outdoor kitchenettes set underneath a tented awning; they have a chemical toilet inside and no running water. All options are set in a shaded grove beneath pine trees; the tent pitches are the furthest from the beach.
Features
Several convenience stores, two restaurants, multiple outdoor activities
The property is self-sufficient with the basics on-site; a small convenience store provides the necessities for cooking in the mobile homes and the kitchenettes attached to the caravans; there is also a greengrocer and a butcher. Coin-operated laundry, a children’s play area, and a barbershop round out the amenities. A big outdoor playground, a video game room, and entertainment designed for children are all praised by parents who come with their families; there is also a bike rental and a soccer field. The dining options, which generally receive good reviews, consist of a pizzeria and a full-service restaurant.
