Bottom Line

This upscale boutique is heavy on style and refinement, with British Colonial design and 28 huge multi-room suites featuring full kitchens and large furnished terraces. The gorgeous Grace Bay location on a stunning stretch of beach is within walking distance of a couple of restaurants -- but there are two on-site that serve delicious Caribbean fare: a casual breakfast/lunch restaurant and a romantic spot for dinner. Other property highlights include a tranquil pool, personal beachfront service, and a spectacular thalassotherapy spa. Suites can use some updates in terms of amenities but kitchens are well equipped with espresso machines and coffeemakers. For something even more luxurious, Grace Bay Club Hotel has seven restaurants and three pools -- but higher rates.

Point Grace

Scene

One of the island’s most serene resorts, with a feeling of exclusivity

From a personal in-room check-in policy to a pool sign that proclaims a ban on loud noise and games, it's immediately obvious that those who come to this resort are looking for solitude and serenity. Upon entering the resort, guests walk through a wrought iron gate emblazoned with a golden “PG.” From here, the captivating views are hard to ignore, with a sightline carrying the eye straight from the sparkling pool to the Caribbean Sea and open sky.

Back on resort grounds, four buildings house 28 one- to four-bedroom units. The style has a hint of British Colonial, and the architecture ranges from authentic plantation homes to Mediterranean villas. In the center of it all is the zero-entry pool, which is flanked by massive palm trees and adorned with sparkling golden tiles, plus there's a small bar just at the water’s edge. Guests are almost exclusively on vacation and you'll encounter everyone from honeymooners to families.

Location

On the world-renowned Grace Bay, tucked into a quiet cove

Point Grace is tucked away into a quiet cove. It's located at the Point (hence, the name) on Providenciales’ 12-mile Grace Bay. There are a couple of other hotels and restaurants in the area, but the property feels removed from the tourist racket. A handful of dining options are within a five- to 10-minute walk of the hotel. Golfers can head to nearby Provo Golf Club, a six-minute drive away. Other nearby attractions include Casablanca Casino, a five-minute drive away, and snorkeling at Smith’s Reef, a 12-minute drive. Providenciales International Airport is around a 15-minute drive from the hotel.

Rooms

British Colonial style with a contemporary twist, well equipped kitchens and lovely outdoor areas

Point Grace's 28 one- to four-bedroom suites are decorated in a tasteful British Colonial style and with a staggering attention to detail. Their specialized touches, like impressionist paintings in gilded frames, ornate lamps, antique pieces, and fresh flowers are a welcome touch. Starting at 1,080 square feet, suites are huge, and all come with full kitchens, dining areas, living rooms, and lovely large patios/terraces with elegant furnishings. TVs could also use an update, as many rooms have old tube-style varieties. Wi-Fi is free, but can be spotty. Rooms in the plantation-style buildings have pool views and are ensured privacy thanks to lush plant life surrounding terraces and windows. All units in the larger, Mediterranean-style buildings enjoy expansive ocean views. Kitchens are well equipped with stainless steel appliances that include electric stoves, ovens, full fridges, microwaves, dishwashers, electric kettles, blenders, toasters, coffeemakers, and even espresso machines. Washers and dryers are also provided. Large and elegant bathrooms feature double sink vanities equipped with Asprey toiletries. They have separate tubs and walk-in showers, though some of the bathrooms have older fixtures that could use an update.

Features

Gorgeous beach, outdoor pool, thalassotherapy spa on the beach, and two restaurants

The star of the show is the beautiful stretch of beach. This stunning stretch of sandy shore is lined with umbrella-shaded loungers and half-dome shades, plus towels are provided and staff can deliver food and drink orders. Guests can use the hotel's kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, plus scuba diving is available for a fee. The pool is equally attractive. The pool deck is skirted in palm trees and lines with padded teak lounge chairs and some cabanas. It's a quiet space (games and loud noise are not allowed) which makes for a relaxed respite. A poolside bar offers alfresco seating.

The hotel has a small but amazing thalassotherapy spa with three charming whitewashed hut-style treatment rooms situated right on the beach. There's a private outdoor shower. A number of treatments are available, including massages, body scrubs and wraps, and nail services.

The two restaurants offer two different experiences. The plantation-style Grace’s Cottage invites romance with private nooks and gazebos at the ready for candlelit dinners. Serving a mostly Caribbean menu, the restaurant is popular with not only hotel guests but also locals, and features dishes like pistachio-encrusted sea bass, coconut conch chowder, and pina colada creme brulee. Note that the restaurant is closed one day a week, so guests will have to venture out for dinner or self-cater. Hutchings Restaurant serves breakfast and lunch, but it's also a relaxation lounge, featuring an elegant grand player piano, comfy seating, a television, and a computer. Breakfast is included in rates and is a rich and varied spread of fruit plates, croissants and pastries, and made-to-order eggs.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, though it can be spotty.
