Dating back to 1850, the Turin Palace Hotel has historic charm, but renovations have outfitted the property with sleek, modern decor. The breakfast room is a vast space, with walls that arch upward to a soaring ceiling with clusters of orb-like lights that illuminate furnishings in delicate shades of sky-blue, while its restaurant is a more intimate space with rich parquet wood floors and pops of fuchsia. The lounge bar is a stylish area filled with velvet couches and armchairs in chocolate and teal, animal artwork, and delicate dangling lights. Up on the roof is a terrace with couches and armchairs, potted palms, and, most importantly, stunning views across the rooftops of Turin and the foothills of the Alps. Everything is upscale and elegant here, and affordable rates make it one of the best options in the city.

The Turin Palace Hotel is conveniently located a three-minute walk from the Porta Nuova station, giving guests easy access to the airport, as well as around the city via subway and Northern Italy by mainline services. A wide variety of bars, shops, and restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel, inclduing Piazza Solferino at a 10-minute walk, and the Palazzo Reale and Cattedrale di San Giovanni Battista at 15 minutes. Turin Airport is a 25- to 30-minute drive away, or 60 to 70 minutes by public transport. The hotel is on the edge of Turin’s ZTL, an area where car traffic is highly regulated, and parking spots nearby are few and far between. Garage parking is offered on-site, but it's a bit pricey.

Spotless rooms here are all elegant and contemporary, outfitted in streamlined decor consisting of wood floors, metal and wooden furnishings that are sometimes painted white or black, sky-blue or pink walls, and leather touches in headboards, benches, and armchairs. Some add cute details like walk-in wardrobes with bow-motif wallpaper. Desks, tea- and coffee-making facilities, flat-screen TVs, safes, and minibars with free non-alcoholic beverages come standard, and some have lovely furnished terraces. Black-and-white-checkered bathrooms come with rainfall showers, bidets, hairdryers, upmarket toiletries, bathrobes, and slippers, plus separate bathtubs in upgraded units. 

The Turin Palace Hotel packs several upscale features into its city location. Guests particularly rave about the free buffet breakfast that consists of local cheeses, meats, and fruits, freshly cooked bread and pastries, and bricks of locally made chocolate. Meanwhile, the more formal restaurant serves an a la carte menu of Northern Italian classics for lunch and dinner, and the lounge bar serves drinks and light meals throughout the day. Up on the roof is a terrace with another bar and stunning views over the rooftops of Turin and the foothills of the Alps. A swish spa has an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, chromotherapy showers, treatment rooms for massages and wellness therapies, and a Kneipp hydrotherapy circuit. As well as this, there is a gym with a good range of cardio machines and free weights. There are four event spaces on-site, the largest of which can hold 90 people. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the hotel. Garage parking is offered, but it requires a fee.
